Extra credit presentation in Salem A panel at the next Salem City Club luncheon will look at electric cars in Oregon's transportation future Friday, February 18, 2011 at noon, at Willamette Heritage Center at the Mill, 1313 Mill St. SE, Salem. The luncheon will start at 11:40 a.m. Reservations are due by noon Wednesday; call (503) 370-2808 or e-mail [email protected]. The cost is $12 for members and $15 for others. Lecture without lunch is free. No RSVP required. Scheduled panelists are Russ Beaton, retired economics professor at Willamette University and a consultant to several state agencies; Art James, project director at the Office of Innovative Partnerships in the Oregon Department of Transportation, who will talk about the emerging network of charging stations, and Rick Wallace, senior policy analyst at the Oregon Department of Energy, who will talk about alternative fuels. Write a summary of the discussion, and turn in by email attachment to Brown by 3 PM Sunday February 20. Be sure it is saved as an editable document: if you use iworks pages, save as RTF for export.
