Dear Parent/Guardian We would like to inform you about the forthcoming Parental Workshop on Memory Skills on Thursday 30 March at 6 p.m. This opportunity is being aimed at Year 9 as they are about to make the important transition from KS3 into KS4. In Year 10, students will begin their journey towards their GCSE courses and this will include: coursework deadlines, controlled assessments and examinations. This is a very demanding period of time for students, especially when it comes to revising for exams as most examinations will rely heavily on good memory retention skills. Memory is a very important part of learning and one of the cornerstones of academic success. The workshop will offer you practical techniques, strategies and advice that will help develop an effective working memory that will help students to achieve their potential in their forthcoming GCSE examinations. This early intervention will help you to support your child as it is the best way to increase confidence and reduce anxiety is to be well prepared.
