National Building Museum Volunteer Benefits Overview Updated January 20, 2016 Your volunteer benefits and how to use them. (Benefit availability based on requirements of being an active or emeritus volunteer) 

20% Discount in the Museum Shop o Show your ID badge at checkout o Percentage discount may increase at certain times of the year, volunteers will be notified of these times.



10% Discount at Firehook Café in the museum o Show your ID badge at checkout



Parking in museum lot for your shift (if available) o Park in lot, enter loading dock doors, show your ID to security officer, sign out parking pass from binder, place on dashboard. Upon leaving, return parking pass and sign it in to the binder



Attending Lectures, films, and other public programs o Please email Patrick Kraich, Public Programs Coordinator at [email protected] to sign up for lectures, films, etc. Volunteers that assist with check in are not required to register, only sign up in Volgistics for the shift o Large scale symposium (all day) volunteers may pay the member rate by contacting Aliya, as above. Volunteers who assist at the symposium may attend sessions free of charge, duties permitting. o Construction Watch Tours- Call to register, you will pay the membership cost, generally $35 o When in doubt, or if you are having issues, please contact Kristen ([email protected])



Complimentary Admissions Tickets o Volunteers receive four free tickets per month for family and friends o Contact Kristen or Stephanie to have the tickets placed on the will call list o Guests may pick up the tickets at the admissions desk, the volunteer does not need to be present



Volunteer Library o Volunteers may borrow any book from the library, unless otherwise noted o Fill out a manila tab with the book title and your name and slide it into the space where you removed the book o Please keep the book for a reasonable amount of time (1 month) to allow other volunteers to enjoy it
