Welcome to the Vision Report Watch We promised that we would devote an issue to breaking down the whole controversy around the Copenhagen Summit which took place in December 2009 so we hope that this issue will provide some further insights about the relevance and link between the “green” agenda and global world government. Global Warming proponents claim that the ‘imminent ecological crisis’ will cause a massive rise in sea level which will drown many of the worlds largest cities and displace hundreds of millions of people. In his “so called” Academy Award winning ‘documentary’ Al Gore claimed that if either the West Antarctic Ice Shelf or the ice sheets around Greenland melt the mean global sea level will rise by 20 feet. Greenpeace claims that global warming will “result in a catastrophic global sea level rise of 7 meters. That would mean the end of Bangladesh, Netherlands, Florida and would make London the new Atlantis.” However when one begins to strip away at the surface level information provided by global warming experts, peel away at the reporting of the mainstream media news, and see through the political chess games manoeuvring being played by various nations at the Copenhagen Summit, it becomes clear that the global warming agenda could be one of the most significant initiatives that will help to accelerate a global government by uniting mankind through the fear of imminent disaster. There are many theories regarding how a new world order will come to full implementation. Some believe that it will be the manifestation of the UFO phenomena on a major public scale, others believe it will be a third world war and the use of nuclear weapons, some believe it will be a facilitated crash of the world economic system. However the “environmental movement” agenda clearly can stake it’s claim as another major possible cause and movies such as 2012 clearly help to fuel public interest in what is now not just an ecological discussion but a political one. In this issue we delve into understanding the elements that fuel the environmental movement and its sinister deception. We thank you for supporting our ministry as we continue to provide this report to you monthly with insights that will hopefully provide some value in understanding the events that are facing us today. Until Next Time. Daniel Bailey Chief Editor

ECOLOGY AND THE CLUB OF ROME The environmental movement has been described as the largest and most influential social phenomenon in modern history. From relative obscurity just a few decades ago it has spawned thousands of organisations and claims millions of committed activists. Reading the newspaper today it is hard to imagine a time when global warming, resource depletion, environmental catastrophes and 'saving the planet' were barely mentioned. They now rank among the top priorities on the social, political and economic global agenda. Environmental awareness is considered to be the mark of any good honest decent citizen. Multinational companies compete fiercely to promote their environmental credentials and 'out-green' each other. The threat of impending ecological disasters is uniting the world through a plethora of international treaties and conventions. But where did this phenomenon come from, how did it rise to such prominence, and more importantly, where is it going? The concept of 'environmental sustainability' was first brought to widespread public attention in 1972 by the Club of Rome in their book entitled The Limits to Growth. The official summary can be read here. The report basically concluded that the growth of the human population, and an increase in prosperity, would cause an ecological collapse within the next hundred years: The Club of Rome subsequently founded two sibling organizations, the Club of Budapest and the Club of Madrid. The former is focused on social and cultural aspects of their agenda, while the latter concentrates on the political aspects. All three of these 'Clubs' share many common members and hold joint meetings and conferences. The Club of Rome has also established a network of 33 National Associations. Membership of the 'main Club' is limited to 100 individuals at any one

time. Associations (e.g. USACOR, CACLUB OF ROME etc). The Limits to Growth is considered to be the most successful environmental publication ever produced and propelled the Club of Rome to its current position of an environmental thought-leader and a major consultant to the United Nations. It has been translated into more than forty languages and sold more than 30 million copies. Throughout the 1970s and 80s the concept that humanity was irreparably damaging the earth gained popularity and facilitated the formation of mainstream and activist environmental groups All meetings of the Club of Rome are held ‘behind closed doors’ and no public records are kept. However the Club does produce many ‘discussion reports’ that can be found on its website. The United Nations contracts the Club of Rome to prepare ‘Policy Guidance Documents’ which it uses in formulating its policies and programmes. A quick search for Club of Rome on the UNESCO publications site reveals 250 such documents. There are many other documents there authored by Club of Rome members acting in other capacities. As many high ranking UN officials are actually Club of Rome members, this is like a man asking himself for advice, and then agreeing with that advice. Not very objective! Various UN organisations also hold joint conferences with the Club of Rome. Twenty years after the Limits to Growth the Club of Rome published another major report that became an instant best-seller. In The First Global Revolution the Club of Rome claimed that the time to act had run out. It was now or never. Delay in beginning corrective measures will increase the damage to the world ecological system and ultimately reduce the human population that will eventually be supportable. They also stated that democratic governments are far too short-sighted to deal with the ‘problematique’ and new forms of governance are urgently required.

THE UNITED NATIONS AND AGENDA 21 As the United Nations restructures itself to become a world government vis-a-vis global governance, it is being formed around the principles of sustainable development as defined by Agenda 21. Signed by the U.S. during the Earth Summit at Rio de Janeiro in 1992, Agenda 21 was a 40-chapter manifesto to reorganize the world using socialist and pantheistic principles to protect Earth . Agenda 21 represents a major fundamental change in the role of government in social and land-use policy. Under its concept of sustainability, the primary purpose of government will no longer be to serve the people. Rather, the focus of Agenda 21 is to protect nature from people. Governance will be by consensus among "stakeholders and partnerships." The concept of elected representation that holds the government accountable to the citizens will be eliminated. Its doomsday predictions have been designed to excuse radical population reduction, oppressive lifestyle regulations and a coercive return to earthcentered religions as the basis for environmental values and self-sustaining human settlements. A surface level view of Agenda 21 would leave one to believe that its purpose is for combating poverty, protecting and promoting human health, protecting the atmosphere, helping fragile ecosystems, promoting agricultural crops, etc. Again, all well and good, decent agendas to strive for. But as often the case, the devil is in the details. We invite you to examine the Agenda 21 document thoroughly (if you have a few days to devote to it), but we’d like to point out some of the “devils” in those details.

The Agenda 21 Program, drafted for the purpose of creating “sustainable societies”, has been welcomed by nations around the world. To effectively institute a global conservation plan, people must be led to believe that there is a global crisis facing the planet and that no one single government can address on its own. The truth is there is no global climate crisis facing the earth so one is in the process of being manufactured. There is not a single person at the head of this movement, although former Vice President of the United States, Al Gore, might be seen as such. The manufacturing of man-made global-warming has been brought about through a coordinated yet independent effort by many global organizations, government, media, and scientists. Since no one wants to see our planet uninhabitable, global warming is something that these groups can use as a front to hide the real activity happening behind the scenes. Under the noble banner of saving the earth, the Agenda 21 program seeks to control governments around the world and sets forth an agenda that will control the way we all eat, learn, communicate, and live. Its regulations are designed to severely limit water, electricity and transportation as well as removing our access to our most beautiful state parks and wildlife areas. If implemented, the UN would manage and monitor all lands and people. No one would be immune from the all-seeing eye of the UN.

THE EARTH CHARTER The Earth Charter is another control measure created by the United Nations in the same vein as Agenda 21. But whereas Agenda 21 works to have a one-world government under the false charade of a man-made global-warming crisis, The Earth Charter works more toward a one-world religion under the pretense of there being more than one way to Heaven in a Gaia based theology under the umbrella of environmentalism. The Earth Charter was officially launched in 2000 with the help of former Soviet Union president Mikhail Gorbachev, Maurice Strong, president of the Earth Council alliance, and millionaire Steven Rockefeller. The plan is to disseminate the Earth Charter globally in schools and religious communities. Since 2000, the charter has been formally endorsed by thousands of individuals, including UNDESCO, IUCN and numerous Catholic women religious orders.

as well as the Constitution of the United States of America. Mikhail Gorbachev, Los Angeles Times, May 8, 1997: "Do not do unto the environment of others what you do not want done to your own environment... My hope is that this Charter will be a kind of Ten Commandments, a 'Sermon on the Mount', that provides a guide for human behavior toward the environment in the next century.”

Maurice Strong, transcript of interview March 5, 1998, Earth Council: “The real goal of the Earth Charter is that it will in fact become like the Ten Commandments."

Mikhail Gorbachev, PBS Charlie Rose Show, October 23, 1996: “The cosmos is my god; nature is my god”

These facts you are reading are not based on conspiracy theories or zealot ideology. The founders and associates of the Earth Charter movement publically acknowledge that they want to establish a new “global governance”. “No nation state can exist any longer as a separate island capable of providing in isolation opportunity and security for its people. Local and global security can only be founded on the principles of global partnership and the sharing of sovereignty, leading to the creation of new systems of global governance.”

Steven Rockefeller, Ecology, Religion, and Global Governance. Steven C. Rockefeller. Prepared for A Symposium on Religion and World Order, Sponsored by Global Education Associates, Maryknoll Center for Mission Research and Study, and Fordham University Institute on Religion and Culture. May 3-7, 1997 A close look at this document reveals the underlying principals of atheistic and secular humanism, paganism, socialism, authoritarianism, and other beliefs that are in direct conflict with Christianity and the Declaration of Independence

In a blasphemous strike against God, and evidence of its intent to replace Christianity and all religions as the only religion, the Earth Charter is housed in the “Arc of Hope” intended to honor some of the world’s spiritual alternatives to Christianity.

6

The Earth Charter Commission approved the final text of the Earth Charter in 2000, and it has since been embraced by the United Nations, many religious leaders around the world, the majority of world governments and countless NonGovernmental Organizations (NGO's) and activist groups. Following the release of the Charter a series of international forums, called The Earth Dialogues were held at the United Nations to discuss how the general public could be convinced to adopt the “covenant with the Earth” in a real and personal way. Perhaps most revealing was the f o ru m for I n t e rReligious Groups and Spiritual Leaders. As stated in the forums official meeting minutes, the intent was to deal with "the ethics of intolerant righteousness and the greed of short term gain, as these cannot lead us to sustainable development. It is clear that our religious institutions have barely begun to articulate the core values of sustainable development.

So what exactly does this Earth Charter contain? Compared to most UN publications it is very short, only four pages long, direct, and to the point. It clearly lays out the Constitution for a New Green Order. "The choice is ours," it states, "form a global partnership to care for Earth and one another or risk the destruction of ourselves and the diversity of life. Fundamental changes are needed in our values, institutions, and ways of living." The Charter can be read at the official Earth Charter website. The site describes the Charter as “a declaration of fundamental values and principles for building a just, sustainable, and peaceful global society in the 21st century. Created by the largest global consultation process ever associated with an

In their fundamentalist - fanatical forms, religions throughout history have justified terrorism, jihads and crusades against people who hold different beliefs and against the Earth itself." So we can clearly see who they consider their enemy to be. While supporters of the Earth Charter consider traditional mono-theistic religions to be the main obstacle to peaceful coexistence and sustainable life on Earth, they do not propose doing away with spirituality. The Earth Charter goes into detail about the need for faith and spirituality in human life. The preamble of the charter states "the spirit of human solidarity and kinship with all life is strengthened when we live with reverence for the mystery of being, gratitude for the gift of life, and humility regarding the human place in nature."

international declaration, endorsed by thousands of organizations representing millions of individuals, the Earth Charter seeks to inspire in all peoples a sense of global interdependence and shared responsibility for the well-being of the human family and the larger living world. It is an expression of hope and a call to help create a global partnership at a critical juncture in history.” Essentially It is a covenant that has been officially endorsed by the UNCED, UNESCO, UNEP, many governments, and thousands of smaller organisations.

THE 2012 FACTOR What is the convergence of all these initiatives. The Club of Rome has in the last year unveiled a new 3year programme entitled A New Path for World Development.

return” maintaining the status quo, or returning to a previous mode of organization and functioning, are not a feasible option. The acceleration of critical trends and cross-impacts among them indicates that the ‘window of opportunity’ for pulling out of the present global crisis and breaking through to a more peaceful and sustainable world is likely to be no more than four to five years from the end of 2008. This is close in time to the Mayan 2012 prophecy for the end of the current world. The period around the end of 2012 is likely to be a turbulent one for this and other reasons. Predictions coming from the physical sciences foresee disturbances in the geomagnetic, electromagnetic and related fields that embed the planet causing significant damage to telecommunications and impacting many aspects of human activity and health. For the esoteric traditions the end of 2012 will be the end of the known world, although the more optimistic interpretations speak of a new world taking the place of the old.”

The Club of Madrid then launched the Road to Copenhagen, a joint programme with the UN Environment Programme intended to facilitate a binding global climate change treaty back in December 2009.

This may seem very strange – a group of prominent world leaders talking about ancient Mayan prophecies, Gaia's Gurus, many leading global warming activists openly advocate earth-reverence and other New Age philosophies. Gaia, Global Warming, and Global Governance are intricately entwined, if one truly believes in Gaia, and that she is being fatally harmed by the current system, then a new system of global governance and control would appear to be the only answer.

Perhaps most interesting is the State of Global Emergency declared by the Club of Budapest in October 2008. The declaration states that we only have four or five years to prevent a total collapse of the Earth's ecosystems. To quote from the document:

Global Warming provides the ideal 'enemy' to bring about this objective. It is easy for these global elitists to talk about sacrifice, wrenching transformation, population reduction and eliminating the use of fossil fuels but the implications are truly horrendous.

“If we continue on our present unsustainable path, by midcentury the Earth may become largely uninhabitable for human and most other forms of life. Such a total systems collapse could occur much sooner, however, due to runaway global warming or other ecocatastrophes, and/or by nuclear wars triggered by religious, ethnic or geopolitical conflicts or access to diminishing natural resources. The macro-trends driving these global threats and challenges have been apparent for decades and are now building toward a threshold of irreversibility. The scientific modeling of complex systems shows that when systems reach a state of critical instability, they either break down to their components or break through to a higher order of integral functioning. At these “points of no

Could 2012 be the year that significant natural ecological disasters are manipulated to accelerate the master plan of bringing about full global governance. In the last several months we have already witnessed one of the worst earthquakes of its kind in Haiti, a major earthquake in Chile and many other destructive natural events across the globe. Will it be the case that the next 24 months will witness an increase in intensity of ecological disasters. Only time will tell.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT The concept of 'environmental sustainability' was first brought to widespread public attention in 1972 by the Club of Rome in their book entitled The Limits to Growth.

power, but major, unintended changes are occurring in the atmosphere, in soils, in water, among plants and animals, and in the relationships among all of these. The rate of change is outstripping the ability of scientific disciplines and our current capabilities to assess and advise."

This sentiment strongly echoes the Limits to Growth published by the Club of Rome nearly twenty years previously. It also surmised that "major, unintended changes are occurring in the atmosphere, in soils, in waters, among plants and animals. Nature is bountiful but it is also fragile and finely balanced. There are thresholds that cannot be crossed without endangering the basic integrity of the system. Today we are close to many of those thresholds."

In issuing a call for various actions, the report offered a now-famous definition of what it referred to as sustainable development: "A form of development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." The Brundtland Commission called for an international conference to be convened "within an appropriate period" after the presentation of its report to review progress and create a follow-up structure.

Sustainable Development is a doctrine devised by the former Prime Minister of Norway Gro Harlem Brundtland. The UN Secretary-General, Javier Perez de Cuellar, asked Mrs. Brundtland to chair a World Commission focusing on "long-term environmental strategies for achieving sustainable development by the year 2000 and beyond." She was asked "to help formulate a compelling call for political action on behalf of the environment”. Members of the 'Brundtland Commission' came from 21 nations, more than half in the developing world. After three years, including public hearings in the capitals of 15 countries, what now is often called simply the ‘Brundtland Commission’ published a report titled Our Common Future. "Over the course of this century, the relationship between the human world and the planet that sustains it has undergone a profound change," said the report. "When the century began, neither human numbers or technology had the power radically to alter planetary systems. As the century closes, not only do vastly increased human numbers and their activities have that

That conference, the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, or Earth Summit, was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1992. At the Rio 'Earth Summit', representatives of more than 170 nations, including the United States, agreed to work toward sustainable development of the planet. More specific agreements, most not legally binding, focused on topics of global significance such as climate change, loss of biodiversity, management of the earth’s forests and the responsibilities and rights of nations. A global plan of action developed in Rio was titled Agenda 21, referring to the 21st century. Sustainable Development, as outlined in Agenda 21 and the subsequent Earth Charter, is the driving force behind what Al Gore calls a "wrenching transformation" that society must endure to repair what he perceives as the damage of the 20th century's Industrial Revolution. It is the same Industrial Revolution that gave us modern

transportation, medicine, indoor plumbing, healthy drinking water, central heating, air conditioning, and electric light. Sustainable Development is not about environmental clean up of rivers, air and litter. It is an all-encompassing socialist scheme to combine social welfare programs with government control of private business, socialized medicine, national zoning controls of private property and restructuring of school curriculum which serves to indoctrinate children into politically correct group think. Immediately following the publication of Brundtland Commission report and the Earth Summit many governments swiftly enacted draconian legislation to empower the Sustainable Development doctrine. This followed a common formula of establishing regional or federal authorities that were given sweeping powers to control activities on private property. In Europe nearly every imaginable activity, no matter how benign, now requires and

approved environmental legislation and strict monitoring. Even if repayments are met these loans can be foreclosed if the environmental targets are not met within the required timeframe. In his book, Earth in the Balance, Al Gore insists "We must all become partners in a bold effort to change the very foundation of our civilization. We must make the rescue of the environment the central organizing principle for civilization." Sustainable Development advocates seek oppressive taxes to control and punish behavior of which they don't approve and there is much these advocates disapprove, including air conditioning, fast foods, suburban housing and automobiles. Every aspect of our lives is affected by Sustainable Development policies. It is top-down control from an all-powerful central government, specifically the United Nations which seeks to assert such control. The philosophy behind Sustainable Development is to foster a mentality of guilt in people over the use of natural resources. Every time one starts their car... every time one turns on the tap... remember, be sustainable! Don't exceed your allotment of resources.... We all must learn to live the same, think the same and most importantly... be sustainable! We are encouraged to calculate our 'ecological footprint', or more recently, our 'carbon footprint'. Using a humble incandescent light bulb is now considered a crime against the planet by some.

environmental impact assessment to be submitted to a committee which then imposes its own controls on the proposed activity. The UN regularly audits member countries and reports on their progress in implementing Agenda 21. The primary tools used by the UN to force governments to implement its Sustainable Development agenda have been The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The World Bank states that Sustainable Development is its “global strategic priority” and all government loans are tagged with the requirement to introduce

The next revolution in the Sustainable Development saga appears to be the use of Global Warming hysteria to implement a global carbon tax or carbon credit trading system. This will give the United Nations, or whatever hierarchy oversees the system, complete control of the worlds economy. Fossil fuels are the life blood of any economy. One barrel of oil contains 23,000 hours of human work output. Controlling the amount of oil that can be consumed, and taxing its consumption, will complete the Sustainable Development agenda of controlling and reducing human activity in order to protect Mother Earth from her greatest enemy – humans!

"The common enemy of humanity is man. In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy then, is humanity itself." Club of Rome, premier environmental think-tank, consultants to the United Nations "Christianity is our foe. If animal rights is to succeed, we must destroy the Judeo-Christian Religious tradition."

"We've got to ride this global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing in terms of economic and environmental policy."

Al Gore, "Nations are in effect ceding portions of their sovereignty to the international community and beginning to create a new s ystem of international environmental governance as a means of solving otherwise unmanageable crises."

"Effective execution of Agenda 21 will require a profound reorientation of all human society, unlike anything the world has ever experienced a major shift in the priorities of both governments and individuals and an unprecedented redeployment of human and financial resources. This shift will demand that a concern for the environmental consequences of every human action be integrated into individual and collective decision-making at every level." UN Agenda 21

Lester Brown, "A reasonable estimate for an industrialized world society at the present North American material standard of living would be 1 billion. At the more frugal European standard of living, 2 to 3 billion would be possible." United Nations, Global Biodiversity Assessment "We must make this an insecure and inhospitable place for capitalists and their projects. We must reclaim the roads and plowed land, halt dam construction, tear down existing dams, free shackled rivers and return to wilderness millions of acres of presently settled land." David Foreman, co-founder of Earth First!

"We need a new paradigm of development in which the environment will be a priority. World civilization as we know it will soon end. We have very little time and we must act. If we can address the environmental problem, it will have to be done within a new system, a new paradigm. We have to change our mindset, the way humankind views the world." Mikhail Gorbachev, founder of Green Cross "A total population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal." Ted Turner, founder of CNN and major UN donor

Sir James Lovelock, Healing Gaia "Childbearing should be a punishable crime against society, unless the parents hold a government license. All potential parents should be required to use contraceptive chemicals, the government issuing antidotes to citizens chosen for childbearing." David Brower, first Executive Director of the Sierra Club

"In Nature organic growth proceeds according to a Master Plan, a Blueprint. Such a ‘master plan’ is missing from the process of growth and development of the world system. Now is the time to draw up a master plan for sustainable growth and world development based on global allocation of all resources and a new global economic system. Ten or twenty years form today it will probably be too late." Club of Rome, Mankind at the Turning Point "Isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn't it our responsibility to bring that about?" Maurice Strong, founder of the UN Environment Programme "I suspect that eradicating small pox was wrong. It played an important part in balancing ecosystems." John Davis, editor of Earth First! Journal

There is a difference between the biblical view of the environment and the political movement known as "environmentalism." Understanding this difference will shape a Christian’s view of environmentalism. The Bible is clear that the earth and everything in it was given by God to man to rule over and subdue. "And God blessed them, and God said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth'" (Genesis 1:28). Because they were created in His image, God gave men and women a privileged place among all creatures and commanded them to exercise stewardship over the earth (Genesis 1:26-28; Psalm 8:6-8). Stewardship implies caretaking, not abusing. We are to intelligently manage the resources God has given us, using all diligent care to preserve and protect them. This is seen in the Old Testament where God commanded that the fields and vineyards would be sown and harvested for six years, then left fallow for the seventh year in order to replenish the soil's nutrients, both to rest the land and to ensure continued provision for His people in the future (Exodus 23:10-11; Leviticus 25:1-7). At the same time, the earth we inhabit is not a permanent planet, nor was it ever intended to be. The environmental movement is consumed with trying to preserve the planet forever, and we know this is not God's plan. He tells us in 2 Peter 3:10 that at the end of the age, the earth and all He has created will be destroyed: "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up" (NKJV). The physical, natural earth in its present form, with its entire universe will be consumed and God will create a "new heaven and a new earth" (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1). So we see that rather than trying to preserve the earth for thousands or even millions of years to come, we are to be good stewards of it for as long as it lasts, which will be as long as it serves God's sovereign plan and purpose. As Christians, we should be concerned about our effect on our environment. God appointed man to be the steward of this world (Genesis 1:28), not the destroyer of it. However, we should not allow environmentalism to become a form of idolatry, where the “rights” of an inanimate planet and its non-human creatures are held in higher esteem than God (Romans 1:25) and man created in His image. With global warming, as with any other topic, it is crucial to understand what the facts are, who those facts come from, how they are interpreted, and what the spiritual implications should be. A true Christian environmental ethic differs from the naturalistic and pantheistic ethics in that it is based on the reality of God as Creator and man as his image-bearer and steward. God is the Creator of nature, not part of nature. He transcends nature (Gen. 1-2; Job 38-41; Ps. 19, 24, and 104; Rom 1:18-20; Col. 1:16-17). All of nature, including man, is equal in its origin. Nature has value in and of itself because God created it. Nature's value is intrinsic; it will not change because the fact of its creation will not change. The rock, the tree, and the cat deserve our respect because God made them to be as they are. While man is a creature and therefore is identified with the other creatures, he is also created in God's image. It is this image that separates humans from the rest of creation (Gen. 1:26-27; Ps. 139:13-16). God did not bestow His image anywhere else in nature. Therefore, while a cat has value because God created it, it is inappropriate to romanticize the cat as though it had human emotions. All God's creatures glorify Him by their very existence, but only one is able to worship and serve Him by an act of the will. But a responsibility goes along with bearing the image of God. In its proper sense, man's rule and dominion over the earth is that of a steward or a caretaker, not a reckless exploiter. Man is not sovereign over the lower orders of creation. Ownership is in the hands of the Lord. God told Adam and Eve to cultivate and keep the garden (Gen. 2:15), and we may certainly use nature for our benefit, but we may only use it as God intends. An effective steward understands that which he oversees, and science can help us discover the intricacies of nature. Technology puts the creation to man's use, but unnecessary waste and pollution degrades it and spoils the creation's ability to give glorify to its creator. I think it is helpful to realize that we are to exercise dominion over nature not as though we are entitled to exploit it but as something borrowed or held in trust. Recall that in the parable of the talents in Matthew 25, the steward who merely buried his talent out of fear of losing it was severely chastised. What little he did have was taken away and given to those who already had a great deal. When Christ returns, His earth may well be handed back to Him rusted, corroded, polluted, and ugly. To what degree will you or I be held responsible? Because the environmental movement has been co-opted by those involved in the New Age Movement, many Christians have begun to confuse interest in the environment with interest in pantheism and have hesitated to get involved. But we cannot allow the enemy to take over leadership in an area that is rightfully ours. As the redeemed of the earth, our motivation to care for the land is even higher than that of the New Ager. Jesus has redeemed all of the effects of the curse, including our relationship with God, our relationship with other people and our relationship with the creation (1 Cor. 15:21-22, Rom. 5:12-21). Though the heavens and the earth will eventually be destroyed, we should still work for healing now.

WARNING FROM LORD MONCKTON Lord Christopher Monckton. The former adviser to Margaret Thatcher gave an address during the Minnesota Freemarket Institute Conference at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota, in early November 2009. For the first time, the public heard about the 181 pages, dated Sept. 15, that comprised the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, a rough draft of what could was supposed to be signed during the December

SO WHY DID COPENHAGEN FAIL It was the pivotal international conference of the new century. Tens of thousands showed up, including heads of state, officials at all levels of government, representatives of environmental organizations, and ordinary citizens from nearly 200 countries. Scientists had warned that, without a strong agreement to reduce carbon emissions, the consequences for civilization and the world's ecosystems would be cataclysmic. On the sidelines sat powerful forces (including pro-growth business interests and fossil fuel companies) that preferred a weak agreement or none at all. Their strategic public relations efforts ("by far and away the biggest public relations campaign that I've ever seen," according to PR veteran James Hoggan, cofounder of DeSmogBlog.com and author of Climate Cover-Up:

Copenhagen global climate event. Lord Monckton himself only became aware of the extraordinary powers to be vested in this new world government when a friend found an obscure U.N. Web site and searched through several layers of hyperlinks before discovering a document labelled as a "Note by the Secretariat." Here are some excerpts of Lord Monckton’s closing speech, as transcribed by Fighting’ Words Blog, from the audio recording of the conference: !At [the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference in] Copenhagen, this December, weeks away, a treaty will be signed. Your president will sign it. Most of the third world countries will sign it, because they think they’re going to get money out of it. Most of the left-wing regime from the European Union will rubber stamp it. Virtually nobody won’t sign it. I read that treaty. And what it says is this, that a world government is going to be created. The word “government” actually appears as the first of three purposes of the new entity. The second purpose is the transfer of wealth from the countries of the West to third world countries, in satisfaction of what is called, coyly, “climate debt” – because we’ve been burning CO2 and they haven’t. We’ve been screwing up the climate and they haven’t. And the third purpose of this new entity, this government, is enforcement. How many of you think that the word “election” or “democracy” or “vote” or “ballot” occurs anywhere in the 200 pages of that treaty? Quite right, it doesn’t appear once. So, at last, the communists who piled out of the Berlin Wall and into the environmental movement, who took over Greenpeace so that my friends who funded it left within a year, because [the communists] captured it – Now the apotheosis as at hand. They are about to impose a communist world government on the world. You have a president who has very strong sympathies with that point of view. He’s going to sign it. He’ll sign anything. He’s a Nobel Peace Prize [winner]; of course he’ll sign it.”

However the treaty signed in Copenhagen was far off what Lord Monckton had warned. But Why?.

On the streets were tens of thousands of mostly young activists and NGO campaigners, and even a few scientists, who were prepared to raise hell if world leaders didn't act boldly to reduce carbon emissions. So, on the whole, heads of state still felt obliged to come up with some results—but nothing too radical. U.S. President Barack Obama's role in the proceedings seems to have been pivotal. He jetted in on the final day of negotiations and gave a tepid speech stating his country's modest bargaining position. This was greeted coolly (some accounts mention choruses of boos). Then, later in the day, he apparently burst in on a meeting including heads of state or high-level negotiators from China, India, Brazil, and South Africa, insisting that an agreement be reached (up to this point, according to most accounts, the Chinese had been obstructing any deal). Obama managed to persuade the other leaders to sign onto a three-page, non-binding Accord, which, at a midnight press conference, he presented to the other 189 nations attending the conference for their acceptance (no changes to the text were to be permitted). The full text of the document can be found at [UNFCC Framework Convention on Climate Change].

• Wealthy nations will establish a fund (growing from

Environmental activists and representatives of poor nations most vulnerable to rising sea levels or desertification were unhappy with these results. Bill McKibben of the organization 350.org called it "an end far worse than most [climate activists] had imagined." Ian Fry of the drowning island nation of Tuvalu likened it to "being offered 30 pieces of silver to betray our people and our future." Kumi Naidoo, the head of Greenpeace International, called Copenhagen simply "a crime scene." On the other hand, U.N. secretary-general Ban Ki-moon told a press conference that he welcomed the Accord as "an important beginning," and Sierra Club executive director Carl Pope released a statement calling it "an historic, if incomplete, agreement." On the surface the main points of the Copenhagen Accord are easy to summarize:

30 billion dollars per year to $100 billion per year by 2020) to help poor and vulnerable nations adapt to climate change. • Signatory nations accept a goal of limiting global warming to 2 degrees Celsius by 2050. • The Accord creates a Technology Mechanism to accelerate development of low-carbon technology, but supplies no details. However there is a more sinister aspect that as usual the mainstream media fails to convey to the public. AN ALTERNATIVE OUTCOME OF COPENHAGEN For the environmental extremists attending the U.N. climate change summit in Copenhagen, fighting global warming is not just about reducing carbon emissions or promoting alternative energy. Rather, public documents released by some of the most important organizations represented at Copenhagen reveal an absolute obsession with population control and a bizarre belief by environmental extremists that population reduction is the "cheapest" way to achieve a reduction in carbon emissions. For many of those gathered in Copenhagen, the math is simple. Less people = less carbon emitters. In fact, a carbon offset initiative launched by the Optimum Population Trust even allows people to offset their "carbon footprint" by making online payments to support "family planning" in poor countries. These new "population carbon offsets" are being offered by the Optimum Population Trust. The OPT calls itself "the leading think tank in the UK concerned with the impact of population growth on the environment". The truth is that the OPT does have some really big names associated with it. Just some of the world famous individuals involved in the Optimum Population Trust include Sir David Attenborough, Stanford Professor Paul Ehrlich and Dr. Jane Goodall. One of the stated goals of the OPT is to "advance the education of the public in issues relating to human population worldwide and its impact on environmental sustainability".

• Industrial

countries must list their individual emissions reductions targets, and less-industrialized countries must list the actions they will take to cut emissions by specific amounts. • All countries must accept a transparent system for monitoring their emissions. • Poor countries will be paid to prevent deforestation.

The OPT's website even includes a "Stop At Two" pledge which asks people to take "another green step towards environmental survival for all" by making the following pledge: I'm going to try not to have more than two children! But not only is population control the official agenda for organizations such as the OPT, it is also the official agenda of the United Nations.

14

Very few people have talked about the U.N. Population Division policy brief from March 2009, but it is an absolutely explosive document. This shocking policy document openly asks how fertility decline in the least developed countries can be "accelerated" as quickly as possible. But as bad as that report was, the U.N. recently released a report on population that was even more shocking. The United Nations Population Fund recently released its annual State of the World Population Report entitled "Facing a Changing World: Women, Population and Climate". This stunning report goes farther than any U.N. report has ever gone before by unequivocally linking population growth with climate change. The report states that the only way a climate disaster can be avoided is to radically increase "family planning" services around the globe and to do whatever it takes to reduce worldwide fertility rates. In a statement accompanying the release of the report, UNFPA Executive Director Thoraya Obaid stated that "rapid population growth and industrialization have led to a rapid rise in greenhouse gas emissions. We have now reached a point where humanity is approaching the brink of disaster." But what we do know is that in the name of fighting "climate change", the United Nations and the global elite plan to pursue a radical population control agenda. According to their own documents, the number one problem the world is facing is "climate change" and the number one cause of "climate change" is overpopulation. Knowing that many nations on earth will never willingly submit to open population control measures, the global elite will likely implement their population reduction methods by subtle means. Let us just hope that they are not successful in their attempts to eliminate as many people as possible. Of course by now most people who will read this article know that this bizarre population control agenda is even represented in the White House. Barack Obama's "science czar", John P. Holdren, once co-authored a textbook entitled "Ecoscience" in which he advocated population control measures that are so wild and so bizarre that it is difficult to believe that a sane individual actually authored them. What follows are actual quotes from Holdren's textbook.... Pages 787 and 788....

“Adding a sterilant to drinking water or staple foods is a suggestion that seems to horrify people more than most proposals for involuntary fertility control. Indeed, this would pose some very difficult political, legal, and social questions, to say nothing of the technical problems. No such sterilant exists today, nor does one appear to be under development. To be acceptable, such a substance would haveto meet some rather stiff requirements: it must be uniformly effective, despite widely varying doses received by individuals, and despite varying degrees of fertility and sensitivity among individuals; it must be free of dangerous or unpleasant side effects; and it must have no effect on members of the opposite sex, children, old people, pets, or livestock.”

Pages 786 and 787.... “A program of sterilizing women after their second or third child, despite the relatively greater difficulty of the operation than vasectomy, might be easier to implement than trying to sterilize men. The development of a long-term sterilizing capsule that could be implanted under the skin and removed when pregnancy is desired opens additional possibilities for coercive fertility control. The capsule could be implanted at puberty and might be removable, with official permission, for a limited number of births.”

Page 838.... “In today’s world, however, the number of children in a family is a matter of profound public concern. The law regulates other highly personal matters. For example, no one may lawfully have more than one spouse at a time. Why should the law not be able to prevent a person from having more than two children?”

Lord Monckton’s warning was one which whilst outwardly appearing like a false flag is one which helps to cut through the perceptional aspect of Copenhagen 2009. When one see’s through the various squabbles between the United States, China and nations of the developing world it becomes very clear that what we have is a complex process of events which whilst appearing as a typical political sparring is through discernment an ongoing fulfilment of the Club of Rome Model. The Club of Rome is not an organization you would publicly see ay any of these major events, however their final aim of world control, world regionalization, and population identification and monitoring is a plan that is being meticulously followed. The green agenda is simply another significant tool to advance the need for much more tighter population control which will be only possible through the introduction of the Mark of the Beast biochip identification technology to help regulate the process of sustainable development.

Holly Swanson Profile Holly Swanson, is the founder and director of Operation Green Out, an organization that was set up to challenge Boston based group, Second Nature who have initiated an education for sustainability agenda targeted at schools across the state. Holly is the author of Set Up and Sold Out: Find Out What Green Really Means, and she is a nationwide speaker on the “Green movement” and its “plan to use public education to politically indoctrinate. She believes the Green Movement is a communistic and socialistic political agenda disguised as an environmental movement. "It's about politics, not science," says Holly. "The goal of the Green movement is revolution from the top down.

NAS: You are the leader of the Oregon-based organization Operation Green Out! which you founded in opposition to the politicized environmental movement and its influence in education. But before that you were actually an environmentalist yourself. Can you tell me a little about your background with environmentalism and what prompted you to start Operation Green Out!? Swanson: Like most Americans I love the great outdoors. I learned to appreciate the splendor of God’s creation from my parents. Family trips to the mountains, the desert and the beach were adventures as well as learning experiences. Balancing a passion for nature with common sense and personal responsibility is as important to me today as it was then. I became interested in the environmental movement in the late 80s when conflicting reports about environmental issues caught my attention. I wanted to know more so I decided to attend a few environmental conferences. I was very surprised to find information about the Socialist Party and the Green Party in the display table area right along with groups like the Sierra Club, the National Wildlife Federation and Earth First. I did not understand the connection at the time. After months of research and participating in several more events, including a Radical Teachers conference, I realized the environmental cause had been hijacked by the Greens, Party and movement. A key part of the Greens’ strategy was to use public education as a tool to advance their political agenda. I founded Operation Green Out! to get Green politics out in the open and out of America’s schools, starting with Education for Sustainability.

NAS: What about that exclamation organization’s name—what’s that about?

point

in the

Swanson: The exclamation point is symbolic as it emphasizes the urgent need to alert the American people and to prevent the Greens from continuing to use education to target, pressure, and manipulate students to think, eat, live, worship and vote Green. NAS: You wrote a book entitled Set Up and Sold Out: Find Out What Green Really Means. What prompted you to write the book? Swanson: The more I learned about Green politics the more concerned I became that the environmental movement, which was said to be nonpartisan, was advancing a partisan agenda which mirrored the goals of the Greens (Party and global movement). I went to Washington D.C. to discuss this issue and an insider boldly said “whatever is going to be decided about these issues is going to be decided right here inside the beltway, so it really doesn’t matter what the American people think.” I came back and wrote the book. These decisions affect our lives and the lives of future generations. The American people deserve to know that the environmental cause has become a political tool for a political movement. NAS: How has the book been received? Swanson: The book, now an updated third edition, has been well received. The following reviews speak for themselves: “For some time now, many have questioned whether modern environmentalism really has more to do with politics than ecology. Well, in a provocative new book called Set Up & Sold Out, author Holly Swanson confirms this suspicion and lays bare the radical left wing agenda of the Green Movement.” CFACTS Radio, Washington, D.C. “Swanson’s well documented and insightful text uncovers the powerful political connections between the

17

socialist agenda and modern day environmentalism. You will never view the environmental movement the same after reading this account.” Stewards of the Range, Meridian, ID NAS: In the title of your book and in the text as well you use the word “green” to characterize a broad political and social movement. At the National Association of Scholars, we have been calling this the “sustainability movement.” Are they the same thing? Swanson: Yes. The word “green” has been politicized. The word “Green” or “the Greens” characterizes a global political movement which includes, but is not limited to, the Green Party, the Global Green Parties, the environmental, now Green movement, the sustainability movement, the progressives, the Earth Charter and more. These groups are aligned and share a revolutionary agenda. NAS: In Set Up and Sold Out you spend a lot of time connecting the “green” movement to communism and to radical left-wing politics. Your point seems to be that the left is using environmentalism for its own purposes and doesn’t really care about environmental issues in their own right. Is that right? Swanson: The Greens may care about the environment but political power comes first. The following statement by Anthony Cortese, the President of Second Nature and a leader in the Education for Sustainability movement, confirms the goals are political. He said in an interview in Conservation Matters magazine, a publication of the Conservation Law Foundation, that: humans are guided by a whole set of beliefs and values, and those come from culture, from religion, from social, economic and political structure. We need to change all of those. This plan to change and control every aspect of our lives is not about environmental excellence. This plan is about using environmentalism and education to mask imposing a radical political agenda. We do not have to abandon our goal of environmental excellence to start making critical distinctions between sound steps to a healthy environment and the imposition of a Green dictatorship, under the guise of protecting the environment. NAS: Environmentalism has been an active force in American society since the 1960s. Most people agree that it has accomplished a lot of good things. We have cleaner air and water than we did a couple of generations ago,

and Americans are much more sensitive to maintaining the natural environment. What’s wrong with that? Swanson: A tremendous amount of good has come from increased environmental awareness and we don’t need to ‘throw the baby out with the bathwater’ to handle this situation. We need to face the fact that the environmental cause has been hijacked and start separating politics from pollution. We need to shift gears and look at the political as well as the environmental consequences of our choices. NAS: Operation Green Out! opposes Earth Day as a national event. Earth Day seems pretty harmless. What’s the point of opposing it? Swanson: Regardless of what it started out to be, Earth Day is now a political tool for the Greens. The Earth Day Network is a partner in the Earth Charter campaign which means they are using their resources and influence to promote the Earth Charter. The Earth Charter is part of the Green Party platform. Earth Day, Earth Week and Earth Month are all part of the Green indoctrination process. Earth Day is a partisan event and does not belong in publicly funded schools. The solution is to simply hold Earth Day events off campus so student participation is voluntary, not mandatory. NAS: Do you think the green movement (or the sustainability movement) has already changed American society in some manner beyond what the old environmental movement achieved? Swanson: The Greens hijacked the environmental cause over 20 years ago and have since politicized the cause to the point the original intent is all but lost. Taking care of the land and the water has been replaced with taking control of the land and the water. A healthy debate has been replaced with a nearly fanatical intolerance. Respect for individual stewardship has been replaced with the demand we must all live according to the Green’s definition of sustainability. The Greens are changing American society by putting a Green label on everything. The Green label is a marketing strategy to build a group mentality and increase intolerance for those who prefer to think for themselves. The Green label and the sustainability banner are tools to create the mentality that we must all think and act the same. This conditioning process is intended to produce nationwide compliance. We need to lose the Green label. We can take care of the environment without being Green.

18

NAS: In Set Up and Sold Out you’ve explained where you think the green movement would like to go in bringing about social and political change. How likely do you think it is that the movement will succeed in achieving its goals? You say in your book that you think Americans should have a greater voice in “choosing our future.” What if the majority of Americans were to choose the future the greens have in mind? Swanson: The Green movement can achieve their goals if they are allowed to continue to: * Use education to politically indoctrinate America’s youth and control their vote * Hide their partisan agenda under a Green label and the sustainability banner * Keep the fact ‘Green goals mirror communism’ off the public radar screen What the American people don’t know can hurt them. According to the Greens, Cuba is a model of sustainability. Cuba, a communist country, offers a glimpse of the future the Greens have in mind. NAS: What does Operation Green Out! do? What kinds of response have you and the organization met? Swanson: Operation Green Out! is raising public awareness and building support to get Green politics and Education for Sustainability out of America’s schools. The campaign is growing rapidly as more Americans recognize that political indoctrination is occurring and that the Green agenda mirrors communism. NAS: What do you think the obstacles are to reaching a broader audience or getting the kind of skeptical analysis you present heard in the major media? Swanson: Lack of public awareness and outcry are obstacles we are overcoming. Citizens, students and leaders in higher education are helping to create media interest. The opportunity to nationalize these issues and stop the indoctrination has never been greater. NAS: Are there any other organizations like Operation Green Out!? Swanson: To my knowledge Operation Green Out! is the leading organization in this specific issue area although there are many fine groups working on related educational issues.

NAS: As you know, the National Association of Scholars is particularly interested in the way the “sustainability” movement has landed in education, especially higher education. I have several questions for you about the possible links between your work and ours. First, in your view, what is the connection between the green movement and education? Swanson: An example of the political alliance between the Greens and the Education for Sustainability movement is the Earth Charter. The Earth Charter is a set of rules for sustainability, co-authored by Mikhail Gorbachev, which embody Green Party goals. The Education for Sustainability movement has selected the Earth Charter as a guide to teach sustainability which confirms this movement supports and is advancing the same agenda as the Earth Charter and the Greens. The Education for Sustainability movement is harmful because this movement is swiftly changing the role of public education in America from a ‘politically neutral system’ to a ‘politically driven system’ rooted in the ideology of the Greens and designed to produce mass compliance and predictable support for one ideology or single party rule. NAS: Is there anything wrong or questionable about teaching very young children about such things as global warming, rising sea levels, environmental catastrophe, overpopulation, etc? Swanson: Absolutely. Children do not have the emotional maturity or frame of reference to handle the ‘fear factor’ associated with issues like global warming. As parents we do not put our children in situations they are not prepared to handle. We do not expect our children to perform surgery or fix the car so why are we allowing the Greens to put saving the planet on their little shoulders? Scaring children into compliance is an unfair, inappropriate and unacceptable tactic. NAS: The green movement or sustainability movement seems to NAS to have arrived only recently on college campuses, even though it has been developing in the broader society for at least twenty years and perhaps longer. Do you agree that it is new to college? If so, why do you think it took so long to get there?

19

Swanson: The Greens have been laying the foundation for the sustainability movement since the 90s and have quietly promoted the concept of sustainability in higher education since that time. The big push to make sustainability the entire focus of higher education has occurred in the last few years. By design, sustainability programs seem to have emerged overnight because the Greens had their ducks in a row before they let the cat out of the bag. The strategy was to establish general acceptance for the concept of sustainability before the extreme and invasive policies were introduced. NAS: NAS has made the point that the sustainability movement on campus has tried to bypass debate. Its advocates have tried to achieve this in two ways: by creating mandatory dorm-based programs and by recruiting college presidents and other administrators who impose it on their campuses by fiat. We find this puzzling. If the greens believe they have such good arguments for their points, why do they go to such trouble to avoid arguing them? Swanson: The Greens prefer blind obedience. Avoiding debate prevents accountability. Presidents and school administrators must be held accountable. Hard questions regarding the political motivation and outcome of the sustainability mandates must be asked and answered. Lack of accountability creates compliance during and after college. In a free country, debate is welcome and essential. There is no debate in a dictatorship. NAS: How do you think Americans should combat the “green” propaganda on campus? In education in general?

This call is based on overwhelming evidence that these programs are designed to politically indoctrinate students. Since these programs are being taught daily in schools across the nation, anything less than suspension will leave students in harm’s way, and that is irresponsible. Free thought, individual freedom and the democratic process are at risk. These programs must be suspended and the content evaluated by a leading panel of authorities (including the National Association of Scholars) to determine ‘what if any’ part of these political programs is suitable for reinstatement. NAS: In the age of mass communication, we often find ourselves having to reduce complex arguments to a few words in the hope that we will get people’s attention, and that they will then seek to learn more. You have written a whole book about the dangers of the green movement. But if you had to boil it down to one sentence, what would you say? Swanson: The Greens are using Education for Sustainability to politically indoctrinate students nationwide to produce support for ‘single party rule combined with an ideology that mirrors communism,’ and we cannot let that happen. NAS: Where are you and Operation Green Out! going next? If people want to learn more about Operation Green Out! what should they do? Swanson: Operation Green Out! is taking multiple steps to raise public awareness, prevent indoctrination and bring accountability back to education.

Swanson: The first step to combat Green propaganda on campus is to understand the political purpose behind it. Reading Set Up & Sold Out would help. Combating the Green agenda in public education requires a nationwide accountability check-up. We need to work with educators, students, parents and citizens to return our schools to safe havens of learning. Upholding the American standard of a politically (party) neutral public education is the place to start. The Operation Green Out! accountability check-up begins with the call to immediately suspend Education for Sustainability and related Green programming in America’s schools (pre-school through university).

The Club of Rome is a global think tank that deals with a variety of international political issues. It was founded in April 1968 and raised considerable public attention 1972 with its report Limits to Growth. As part of the New World Order “supranational sovereignty” plan, otherwise known as ‘global dominion’, the Club of Rome think-tank was set up primarily to resolve issues of ‘wealth distr ibution’, ‘food production’, ‘environmental impact’ and ‘population control’ Or rather, ‘de-population’. The Club of Rome’s first task in this regard was to think-tank the logistics of global government, and soon devised a strategy whereby the world would be divided into 10 regions, or kingdoms, all of which would be serviced by its own central bank and would answer to the centralized control of the World Bank/ IMF, Bilderberg, Chatham House, CFR and the Trilateral Commission.

The Club is composed of "scientists, economists, businessmen, international high civil servants, heads of state and former heads of state from all five continents who are convinced that the future of humankind is not determined once and for all and that each human being can contribute to the improvement of our societies. The Club of Rome also consists of members of the so-called Black Nobility of Europe, old families which lived in Venice and Genoa. These people have ruled vast financial empires for the past fifteen hundred years. 'They are called the 'Black' nobility because of their constant use of dirty tricks, terrorism and unethical methods which they never hesitate to use against anyone who would dare to stand in their way. These people are very closely allied to the "German Marshall Fund" which organizes and finances most of the work of the Club of Rome.

In its role of ‘wealth versus population controllerate’, the Club of Rome also wields massive influence on global economic trends and policies. In this regard it is this elite globalist cabal which is largely responsible for keeping the developing world in an undeveloped and impoverished state.

Indeed, the Club of Rome’s ‘depopulation’ policy is said to be targeted primarily on the developing world, which would of course explain why this immensely influential ‘think-tank’ has thought so creatively over decades on how best to derail, or at least defer, ‘Forgiveness of Debt’. Evidently, keeping the Third World third is paramount to the Club of Rome depopulation policy. More recently the Club of Rome has been the prime mover behind the Global Warming scam, using the scaremongery generated by this highly contentious and emotive issue to gain public support for cutting CO2 emissions. And then using this excuse for preventing Third World countries from developing their industries and economies the world’s most powerful nations continue to i n c r e as e t h e i r c ar bo n footprints on a daily basis, whilst the poor turn their mills by wind and solar power.

"The Earth has cancer and the cancer is Man." -Club of Rome, Mankind at the Turning Point, 1974 "W the resultant ideal sustainable population is hence more than 500 million but less than one billion.” - Club of Rome, Goals for Mankind, 1976. "A cancer is an uncontrolled multiplication of cells; the population explosion is an uncontrolled multiplication of peopleW. We must shift our efforts from the treatment of the symptoms to the cutting out of the cancer. The operation will demand many apparently brutal and heartless decisions." - Paul Ehrlich in The Population Bomb. Paul Ehrlich is a member of the Club of Rome. "I believe that human overpopulation is the fundamental problem on Earth Today”W..“We humans have become a disease, the Humanpox.” - Dave Foreman, Co-founder of Earth First! and member of the Club of Rome. “World population needs to be decreased by 50%” - Henry Kissinger, , Former National Security Advisor, Former Secretary of State, chairman of Kissinger Associates, member of the Club of Rome. “We must speak more clearly about sexuality, contraception, about abortion, about values that control population, because the ecological crisis, in short, is the population crisis. Cut the population by 90% and there aren’t enough people left to do a great deal of ecological damage.” - Mikhail Gorbachev, Former President of the Soviet Union, member of the Club of Rome “A total population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal.” - Ted Turner, founder of CNN and major UN donor, member of the Club of Rome. In order to stabilize world population, we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it is just as bad not to say it. - Jacques Cousteau, French naval officer and explorer. Member of the Club of Rome. "If I were reincarnated I would wish to be returned to earth as a killer virus to lower human population levels." Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, member of the Club of Rome.

JOAN VEON PROFILE Up until September 1994, Joan Veon was just a businesswoman. As a result of attending the United Nations Conference on Population and Development in Cairo, Egypt, she received her “wake up call” as she found there was more going on at the global level than most Americans knew, understood or were being told. In her determination to understand the global level and what it really means for Americans, Joan has covered over 103 UN and UN-related conferences since Cairo which include the economic, political, environmental, military, peacekeeping, legal, trade and financial. They include (8) Group of Seven (now Eight), (6) Group of Seven Finance Ministers Meetings, (4) Group of Eight Foreign Ministers meetings, the International Organization for Security Commissions (IOSCO), the Rio Plus Five (follow-up to the Earth Summit), (6) World Economic Forum meetings, (2) Free Trade Areas of the Americas meetings, (5) Bank for International Settlements meetings, (2) Gorbachev State of the World Forums, various conferences at the United Nations, the International Criminal Court, Al Gore’s First Global Conference on Re-inventing Government, (2) World Trade Organization meetings, and others. Joan has written two books, Prince Charles the Sustainable Prince which is in it fifth printing and discusses her belief that when the U.S. Senate signed the U.N. Charter in 1945 is when American officially entered world government and reverted back under British rule. This book documents the role of the British royal family as a formidable power working BEHIND the scenes of the UN and the role of Prince Charles with that of sustainable development and publicprivate partnerships. Her second book, the United Nations’ Global Straitjacket is over 400 pages and is a “handbook on world government.” In it she explains the political structure of the United Nations, she discusses the coming global stock exchange, the International Criminal Court and gives a call to “stand in the Gap.” Veon believes that Public- Private Partnerships are one of the most effective tools that are used by the globalists to implement Agenda 21 Sustainable Development, with the goal of destroying the structure of governments that represent the people, and puts profits and resources in the hands of the private interest collectivists. The public part of the Public- Private Partnership (PPP) is the government, which becomes corrupted and no longer represents the taxpayers, when it accepts funding from private interests. Further, the government becomes silent against abuses to the public when they have been compromised by PPP business arrangements, and, worse yet, may also sell off resources and utilities that were owned by the taxpayers. The government does this because they are broke and more taxation is unpopular. The private part of the PPP is often a combination of these entities: Corporations (usually multinational), Foundations (like Rockefeller), Associations, Universities, Any entity with a lot of money, Non-Governmental Agencies (NGO’s). NGO’s are usually environmental agencies, like the Sierra Club and the Nature Conservancy. The private stakeholder in the business arrangement always has profit as its goal, not service. Service was formerly the role of the representative government. The assets that once belonged to the taxpayers are then transferred to private interests, in a transfer of wealth through the assets, to private parties that seek profit at any price. Frequently, deceit, deception and distortion are used to fleece the taxpayer into this ’solution’ for governments that are broke. American local, county, state and the federal governments have gone broke and are ripe for the sale of their assets to PPP’s because of deficit spending, and a lack of economic common sense. John Maynard Keynes promoted deficit spending to Roosevelt as a way to escape the Depression. This results in diluted government and loss of power.

GAIA: THE ROOT OF DEEP ECOLOGY Anyone who has studied the global green movement has no doubt heard of "Gaia". Believers in Gaia, or ‘Gaians’ as they often refer to themselves, claim that the earth is a sentient superbeing, an ancient goddess spirit, deserving of worship and reverence. Sir James Lovelock, in his book Gaia: ‘A new look at Life’, states that “all of the lifeforms on this planet are a part of Gaia - part of one spirit goddess that sustains life on earth. Since this transformation into a living system the interventions of Gaia have brought about the

This new interrelationship of Gaia with man is by no means fully established; we are not yet a truly collective species, corralled and tamed as an integral part of the biosphere, as we are as individual creatures. It may be that the destiny of mankind is to become tamed, so that the fierce, destructive, and greedy forces of tribalism and nationalism are fused into a compulsive urge to belong to the commonwealth of all creatures which constitutes Gaia.” – James Lovelock, Gaia: A New Look at Life (1972)

The modern Gaia hypothesis was originally formulated by James Lovelock. Dr Lovelock is one of the worlds most famous and influential scientists. He has degrees in numerous areas, including medicine, chemistry and physics. Lovelock worked for NASA during the 1960's as a consultant to the Viking spacecraft project. His task was to develop methods for detecting life on Mars. He claims that while searching for suitable methods he realised that conditions that allowed life to exist on Earth could not occur ‘naturally’. The system is so well balanced and yet so dynamic that life itself is acting like a self-regulating sentient super-organism. He famously told NASA that there was no possibility of life existing on Mars and they should cancel their mission. Lovelock called his sentient, superorganism “Gaia”, after the ancient Greek Goddess of the Earth. In Greek Mythology it was Gaia that “brought Order out of Chaos”, a theme commonly quoted in Gaian texts. Lovelock believed that humans were a key part of this organism. He claimed that humans had evolved to a point where they had become Gaia’s “global brain” and “she is now through us awake and aware of herself. She has seen the reflection of her fair face through the eyes of astronauts and the television cameras of orbiting spacecraft.”

evolving diversity of living creatures on planet Earth.” Gaians teach that the "Earth Goddess", or Mother Earth, must be protected from destructive human activity. It is this belief that fuels the environmental movement, sustainable development, and a global push for the return of industrialized

However, he also believed that humans were abusing the planet environmentally, jeopardizing the organism as a whole, "as though the human race is a cancer." In his latest book, The Revenge of Gaia, Lovelock claims that Gaia is now fully awakened, and she is angry. Lovelock writes “Just as the human body uses a fever to fight off an infection, Gaia is raising Her temperature to expel a harmful parasite – humans.

23

Unless humans renounce their destructive ways and rejoin the diverse community of living beings in Gaia’s loving embrace then Gaia will be forced to act in order to secure Her supreme reign”. In the book Lovelock also claims, that on the current trajectory, “the human population will be reduced to a few breeding pairs by the end of this century.” The Gaia hypothesis was eagerly accepted by the emerging new age movement in the 1970s as it combines neatly with eastern mysticism and neopagan theology, but “science” was needed to convince biologists. For these people, Gaia was made palatable by L o ve lo c k 's Da is y wo r ld model, a mathematical and scientific theory designed to refute the criticisms of Darwinism. Just as evolution eliminates the need for a divine creator, the Daisyworld model provided a theory of evolving life on earth that incorporates natural selection with a sentient lifeforce. It eliminates a personal yet separate God, and makes humans a part of the divine spirit that is Gaia. A simple google search for gaia pagan, will reveal thousands of organisations proudly proclaiming themselves to literally be pagan priests and disciples of the great Goddess Gaia. There are dozens of Gaia Groups in most major cities. Wicca, which is said to be the fastest growing religion in the United States, is intimately connected with Gaia worship. In fact many Gaians call themselves witches and warlocks. The feminist movement has also warmly embraced the concept of a Gaia Goddess. For many of these proponents, an integral part of Goddess worship is its prevalent theme of anti-masculine, anti-male statements. In this philosophical world-view, since

Goddess worship is good, then by necessity, any use of masculine terminology in reference to God or any prominence of men in culture or society is generally discouraged. The prominent self-proclaimed ‘feminist witch’, Miriam Starhawk stated, "The symbolism of the Goddess has taken on an electrifying power for modern women. It has exposed the falsehoods of patriarchal history, and given us models for female strength and authority." Gaians teach that the Divine Earth must be protected from all threats no matter what the cost. The United Nations Global Biodiversity Assessment, explicitly refers to Christianity as a faith that has set humans apart from nature and stripped nature of its sacred qualities. “Conversion to Christianity has therefore meant an abandonment of an affinity with the natural world for many forest dwellers, peasants, fishers all over the world ...The northeastern hilly states of India bordering China and Myanmar supported small scale, largely autonomous shifting cultivator societies until the 1950's. These people followed their own religious traditions that included setting apart between 10% and 30% of the landscape as sacred groves and ponds.”

While condemning Christianity and Islam as the root of all environmental evil, the document goes on to praise Buddhism and Hinduism as they "did not depart as drastically from the perspective of humans as members of a community of beings including other living and non-living elements."

Al Gore, in his book Earth in the Balance, echoes this view “Prehistoric Europe and much of the world was based on the worship of a single earth goddess, who was assumed to be the fount of all life and who radiated harmony among all living things. Much of the evidence for the existence of this primitive religion comes from the many thousands of artifacts uncovered in ceremonial sites. These sites are so widespread that they seem to confirm the notion that a goddess religion was ubiquitous through much of the world until the antecedents of today's religions, most of which still have a distinctly masculine orientation...swept out of India and

24

the Near East, almost obliterating belief in the goddess. The last vestige of organized goddess worship was eliminated by Christianity as late as the fifteenth century in Lithuania."

Gaia worship is at the very heart of the Global Green Agenda. Sustainable Development, Agenda 21, the Earth Charter, and the Global Warming theory are all part of the Gaians mission to save "Mother Earth" from her human infestation. Gaians have succeeded in uniting the environmental movement, the new age movement, Eastern religions, the United Nations and even the leaders of many Christian denominations behind this vile new form of paganism. DEEP ECOLOGY The almost simultaneous emergence of the Environmental and New Age movements in the 1970s has spawned a plethora of hybrid ecospiritual philosophies. These include the Gaia hypothesis, Deep Ecology, Sacred Ecology, Ecosophy, and Creation Spirituality. These philosophies all overlap with each other to some extent but tend to focus on different aspects of ‘protecting the earth from humanity’. Perhaps the most dangerous and radical is the philosophy known as Deep Ecology.

Deep ecologists argue for a radical reduction in human population, in human "interference" in nature, and in the human standard of living. They argue that primitive peoples lived in spiritual harmony with the natural world, but European industrial culture has severed this harmony and we have become a feral untamed plague on the earth. According to them industrial society is like a cancer spreading through a global host. In some ways, Deep Ecology has similar roots to Gaia hypothesis, in that humans are part of a sentient superorganism known as Earth. However, Deep ecologists go further than the Gaians in arguing that humanity is genuinely of no more importance than an amoeba or the smallpox virus. Deep Ecology argues that humanity has no hierarchical dominance or any sense of uniqueness. We are just another animal, and a crazed, destructive one at that. While Gaians tend to focus on spiritual aspects of communing with Mother Earth, Deep ecologists focus on the negative aspects of human activity on the earth. Deep Ecology has greatly influenced grassroots environmentalism, especially in Europe, North America, and Australia. It has spread through “road shows” and ritual processes led by touring movement advocates, through the writings of its architects (often reaching college students in environmental studies courses) and perhaps especially by the dramatic activism of its radical environmental vanguards e.g. Earth First!, Greenpeace, the Earth Liberation Front, and PETA. The Deep Ecology philosophy was no doubt strongly influenced by The Limits to Growth published by the Club of Rome in 1972. This book claimed that human society was far outstripping the earth’s regenerative capacity and the world was on the brink of an environmental catastrophe.

Deep Ecology is a semi-religious movement that believes modern civilisation’s anthropocentric (humancentered) worldview is the root cause of an imminent complete ecological collapse. Deep ecologists blame humans for this fast-approaching apocalypse and believe that humanity’s destructive activities must be halted immediately, by any means necessary, and at whatever cost.

The term ‘Deep Ecology’ was first used by the famous Norwegian philosopher, and ‘mystical Buddhist’, Arne Naess in 1973. He claimed that the science of ecology was shallow and meaningless as it looked at the world from a human perspective, while Naess argued that the human species has the same ‘intrinsic value’ as a bacterium or an earthworm. He stated the eight core principles of Deep Ecology were:

25

1. The well-being and flourishing of human and nonhuman life on Earth have value in themselves. These values are independent of the usefulness of the nonhuman world for human purposes. 2. Richness and diversity of life-forms contribute to the realisation of these values and are also values in themselves. 3. Humans have no right to reduce this richness and diversity except to satisfy vital needs. 4. Present human interference with the nonhuman world is excessive, and the situation is rapidly worsening. 5. The flourishing of human life and cultures is compatible with a substantial decrease of the human population. The flourishing of nonhuman life requires such a decrease. 6. Policies must therefore be changed. The changes in policies affect basic economic, technological, and ideological structures. The resulting state of affairs will be deeply different from the present. 7. The ideological change is mainly that of appreciating life quality rather than adhering to an increasingly higher standard of living. There will be a profound awareness of the difference between big and great.

western capitalism. Radical environmental activism flourished during the late 1970s, fuelled by recruits from the anti-Vietnam war and Civil Rights movements. News reports were replete with stories about ‘’hippies” chained to trees and activists burning down animal research facilities. Radical environmental activism seems to have died a slow death since the 1990s as the wider green movement considered their actions to be counterproductive and harmful to the cause. However, the philosophy behind Deep Ecology has continued to spread and infiltrate the movement. Few people realize that ‘respectable’ environmental organizations such as the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the Sierra Club and the Nature Conservancy were originally formed by radical activists who recognised that their ultimate goals could only be realized through political and social tools Many of these organisations now act as consultants to the United Nations. Anti-human sentiment and subtle calls for ‘human reproductive control’ are sprinkled throughout Agenda 21 and the Earth Charter. Many prominent environmentalists are now touting population control as the only answer to the world’s problems. Even the original Gaian, Sir James Lovelock, has taken to calling humans “an out of control cancer that Gaia will soon eradicate.” A NEW ONE WORLD RELIGION

8. Those who subscribe to the foregoing points have an obligation directly or indirectly to participate in the attempt to implement the necessary changes. Naess soon gained a large following in the emerging green movement, especially among the youngest and most radical factions. Deep ecology’s uncompromising rhetoric provided a welcome, radical alternative to the New Age earth-loving, tree-hugging Gaia hypothesis. They saw this new anti-human philosophy as a call to arms against

Blending the world’s religions together and bringing them under the umbrella of the United Nations has been high on the Global Green Agenda for many years. Dr Robert Muller, until recently the Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations, and its #2 ranked official, appears to be the driving force behind the plan to create a new United Religion. His passion for this spiritual agenda is readily apparent

26

"My great personal dream is to forge a tremendous alliance between all religions and spiritual groups, and the UN. We desperately need a United Religions Organisation to bring reconciliation, unity and peace to all the peoples of our world."

Dr Muller famously described himself as "A divine motivator ... the wise man of the UN ... the shaman of the UN ... the man through whom God speaks ... the spokesman of Christ ...” Now this 'divine motivator' was the co-founder of UNESCO and a key architect behind many of the UN's most important environmental policies and plans. Dr Muller is also one of the key figures behind the drive to establish a universal global consciousness. He is the co-Chairman of the World Commission for Global Consciousness and Spirituality and the coChairman, alongside Mikhail Gorbachev, of the World Wisdom Council. Dr Muller is also the Chancellor of the UN's University of Peace, which he founded on a mountain in Costa Rica. Why did he choose this location? Because of this ancient prophecy: "The Great Spirit is in every animal, in every bird, butterfly, flower, insect, leaf and grass you see. The Great Spirit is also in you, the Creator's children. Please take care of the wonderful nature created by God and some day, from this mountain, you will see the birth of a civilization of peace spread to the entire world."

Dr Muller’s clearly outines his vision for a New Green Religion on his websites such as http:// www.paradiseearth.us. In one article he recounts a conversation between himself and God, as equals no less. God: "Dear Robert, congratulations for having finished your 4000 ideas. May I ask you: which one do you consider the most important?" I: Well, my most important idea and conclusion after all my adult life as a world civil servant is this: The United Nations must be vastly strengthened to resolve the major global problems henceforth increasingly confronting humanity and the earth. It must be empowered to adopt and enforce world laws and regulations. Let us perform this miracle in the House of Mica, on the shores of the River of the Rising Sun, wherefrom our indigenous brethren prophesized that a civilization of peace will extend to the entire world.

God: "Thank you, dear Robert, for what you are recommending. Perhaps after all, the greatest jewel of my Creation, the Earth, can be saved.“

The first attempt at global interfaith dialogue occurred at the first ‘Parliament of World Religions’ held in Chicago in 1893. This conference involved representatives from most established and emerging religious groups and also marked the introduction of the Baha’i faith into the United States. In the early 1990s a group of interfaith dialogue proponents decided to organise a centenary conference to be held in 1993, also in Chicago. Dr Muller was one of the primary organisers, along with Hans Kung and Dr. Gerald Barney, and was a keynote speaker. Kung is a Catholic priest who previously held the powerful position of ‘Expositor of Theology’ at the Vatican and is the founder of the Global Ethic Foundation, another organization strongly pushing the concept of human global consciousness. The conference included more than 8,000 representatives from 150 different religious and spiritual groups. Dr Muller’s speech was entitled 'A Proposal to establish a United Nations of Religion'. It received a prolonged standing ovation and his proposal was endorsed in the conferences joint communique. The centenary parliament led to the formation of interfaith dialogue initiatives by many religious groups, most notably the Vatican, and secular organisations such as the United Nations, the Gorbachev Foundation, the Clinton Global Initiative, and many UN associated NGOs. However, it was the United Religions Initiative (URI), proposed by Robert Muller during the conference that has made the most dramatic progress. The URI’s stated aims are “unity among religions” and "manifesting love for the Earth." Working closely with Muller on this daring initiative is the Anglican Bishop William Swing of Grace Episcopal Cathedral in San Francisco. Although Muller

degrees, of the Far Eastern, mystical religions, mainly Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, and Western Occultism, adapted to and influenced by Western, materialistic culture. It sometimes appears in secularized forms.

THE NEW AGE MOVEMENT The goals of the New Age movement under which the United Nations operates right now, are the implementation of a New World Messiah. The tools of the new world government which are now in progression are a multi-national international army; an international police force; a World Bank for the economy; a World Government under the United Nations; a World Conservation Bank for wilderness around the world meaning that all green movements will be melded into this new International Bank or will disappear and a new World Religion where all church doctrines will be destroyed at the roots to be replaced by the new religion of the Age of Aquarius.

The New Age Movement consists of an incredibly huge and well organized network consisting of thousands of groups, trusts, foundations, clubs, lodges, and religious groups whose goal and purpose is to prepare the world to enter the coming "Age Of Aquarius." A small sampling of only a few of the organizations involved would include: Amnesty International, Zero Population Growth, California New Age Caucus, New World Alliance, World Goodwill, The Church Universal and Triumphant, The Theosophical Society, the Forum, Planetary Initiative for the World We Choose, the Club of Rome, Church Universal & Triumphant, Christian Science, and the Unity School of Christianity. This list, by no means all inclusive, demonstrates the diversity of organizations operating in economic, political, and religious spheres of influence. The major goal of the New Age Movement is to bring peace to the world rimarily through the leadership of "the Christos" (also known as "Lord Maitreya"), who will supposedly come to teach us to live at peace with each other. “This age will be an age of splendour and of light, because it is the home of the Holy Breath; and the Holy Breath will testify anew for Christ, the Logos of the eternal Love. At first of every age this Logos is made manifest in flesh so man can see and know and comprehend a Love that is not narrow, circumscribed. Twelve times in every revolution of the sun this christed Love of God is made full manifest in flesh upon the planes of earth”

The New Age Movement (NAM) is both a religious and a social movement. In fact, Western culture is currently experiencing a phenomenal, spiritual, ideological, and sociological shift. It is a religious world view that is alien and hostile to Christianity as well as Islam and Orthodox Judaism. It's a multifocused, multi-faceted synthesis, in varying

It is for this very reason that the Bible states, "Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” Matthew 7:15 “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” Matthew 24:24

Noted environmentalist Calvin B. DeWitt encourages Christians to care for the environment as stewards of God's creation. Earth-Wise describes in detail the wonders of God's creation and how fallen humanity and modern society have abused it. DeWitt provides biblical and theological perspectives on creation care as well as practical ideas for how Christians can respond to environmental issues. Discussion questions are included, as well as an outline of a workshop session on putting creation care into practice Reviewer: Scot F. Martin Cal Dewitt has done the church a great service by authoring this short book. In it he outlines Biblical reasons for stewarding nature. He reminds us of how much our survival depends on biodiversity, clean air, soil, and water, and beauty. He, implicitly, puts to shame the gnostic idea of a dirty world and a pure Heaven. Granted, sin and our continued mistreatment have dirtied the earth, but to think that because it is material or is "going to burn" means God doesn't care about his creation is severely mistaken. This book is perfect for someone just beginning to waken to the world around them or a church group looking for ways to make their church a "Creation Awareness Station." His last section is filled with more than enough ideas for individuals and churches to dirty their hands with Earth-Keeping, and by implication, worship the Lord of Heaven and Earth. Reviewer: Michael McKinney When I ordered my first 20 copies of EARTH-WISE, it was my intent to make it available to couples who would participate in my book study as a "community study tool." The book was so popular, however, that another full order of 20 was made to accommodate the requests from our members who each wanted a book for him/herself in which to make notations throughout our study and to review individually. As today's politicians take to task environmental issues in their endeavor to achieve the highest power, they are forgetting that THE Highest Power, our God, has created the Earth for us to use and enjoy wisely. Dr. DeWitt is very adept at getting this point across in a scholarly manner, yet he is not "preachy" in his text. The group session portions have aided me greatly as I have prepared for each week's class. They have produced many quality discussions from which our members have benefitted. I highly recommend this book to any clergy wishing to delve into exploring the current environmental status with your congregation. 29
