CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER SHELTER-AFRIQUE is a leading pan -African Development Finance Institution that is dedicated to investment in housing and urban development in Africa. The company provides real estate project finance, lines of credit, and trade finance to financial institutions, private sector developers and public institutions in 44 African countries. In addition, the company partners with joint venture and equity investors to deliver large scale low cost housing estates across Africa. The Company has its Head Office in Nairobi and a network of Regional Offices in Abuja, Abidjan and Nairobi. As part of its transformation and turnaround program, the company seeks the position of Chief Finance Officer from experienced professionals from its member countries. The job and person specifications for the position is outlined below. Main role As the Chief Finance Officer, you will provide strategic leadership and be a business partner to the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer in developing and overseeing the execution of the financial strategy and enabling operational plans, policies and systems. You will lead strategic financial planning and budgeting, financial management and control, management of finance and foreign exchange risks, financial modeling and structuring, raising of equity and debt financing for projects, and ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and statutory reporting requirements. In addition, you will develop and implement medium and long term funding strategies, maintain constructive relations with funding agencies/partners, ensure existence of sound treasury management policies, effective management of liquidity and foreign exchange. The position reports to the Managing Director with accountability to the Board as well. Minimum requirements You should be a transformational and results driven professional with at least ten years’ of demonstrated financial management expertise, five (5) of which must be at senior management level. You should possess a Masters degree in business Administration (MBA), Economics, Finance or a related field; and be a member of a recognized professional
accounting or financial profession. Exceptional skills in financial analysis and modelling, investor relations, and negotiation will be an asset. Proficiency in English or French and a working knowledge of the other will be an added advantage.
