INSTRUCTORS: SAHAI BURROWES, PHD, MALD; ALEXANDRA HERNANDEZ, MPH, PHD This workshop is a six-day introduction to the Stata statistical software package. We will analyze several health and social services data sets and apply epidemiologic and statistical methods appropriate for epidemiological problem solving and public health policy research. The aim of the workshop is to teach students enough to feel comfortable using and learning in Stata in their coursework or research. By the end of this workshop you will be:  skilled at importing, managing, and exporting data  able to write useful and intelligible Stata code  knowledgeable about the most commonly used commands for describing and analyzing data  aware of publicly available Stata training resources and datasets  aware of common graphics tools and methods for displaying data and results The workshop is free but participants must purchase or rent a copy of Stata and either download a trial version of StatTransfer or purchase a student license. Students are required to bring laptops to class Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis with priority given to community partners, students taking Epidemiology and those conducting data analysis for work study, field study, or Capstone projects.
