Galen: Good morning! (CHECKING WATCH!) Ah, you must be… Trevor: Dillon, at your service. Galen: Detective Dillon. Well. I’ve seen your pictures in the papers. Trevor: I know, they don’t do me justice. … Galen: On the contrary, the ones I saw were surprisingly accurate. Trevor: ‘Better tell himself—Kramer—I’m here. Nice dress by the way. Galen: Thank you. Trevor: Good color for ya. Galen: Really? Trevor: Trust me. Galen: I’d like to. I’m Galen Kramer. Trevor: You’re--? Hey— Galen: And you’re fourteen minutes late, Detective.

Galen: My secretary is on a coffee break; his name is Joshua. How long have you been a detective? Trevor: Can we start over? Galen: I don’t think so. Trevor: Hey, I’ve worked with a slew a’ women DA’s; ask around, I’m not that kinda’ guy. Galen Just tardy. Trevor: Fifteen minutes? Give me a break. Galen: Haven’t I? Trevor: Whatya’ say we go down, get some coffee— Galen: I have to interview Terrance Frye at the hospital in 42 minutes. And Tom Cudahy ‘half an hour later, way across town, and then stop back at the police station to speak with officer Frye, and pick up a fresh report because some imbecile only photocopied the front side of 17 pages of twosided text. Then I have a 2:15 with Dick Hamilton, a 3:30 staff meeting, and at 5:45 I’m addressing a pre-law class at PVU on the critical role of pro bono work in the legal profession. So “only” fifteen minutes? Out of my day? Trevor: If I’d only known, woulda’ brought you some carry-out; you don’t have time to eat, huh?

Galen: Excuse me, Detective— Trevor: --Hey look; I dropped by the hospital two hours ago to see Terrence! They were doin’ some kinda’ test, I couldn’t get in right away. The kid’s been thru the wringer, his Uncle’s like a brother to me. If I’m a little behind…your schedule, so shoot me, okay? Galen: Maybe we should…. start over. Trevor: The late Trevor Dillon, pleased to meet ya.

Galen: Galen Kramer, likewise. I’m sorry. It’s just we’re so understaffed here. (TREV NODS) How is Terrence? Trevor: Hangin’ in. Off the respirator. Pretty shaken. Galen: You should know I plan to do everything humanly possible to throw the book at the bastards who did that to him. Trevor: Something tells me you will. Hey, no hard feelins’? Really? Galen: None. Now…(SHE TAKES OUT A LEGAL PAD) Oh, nice tie, by the way. Good color for you. Or should I say “colors.” Trevor: Touché, counselor, touché.
