2014-2015 COE PROMOTION AND TENURE TIMELINE (Tenure-Track and Career Track Faculty) Spring 2014

Spring/Summer 2014 (March 17 – August 4) August 11-22

Dossiers due Friday, August 22nd by 12:00 noon

Initial Consideration for FY 15 Promotion and/or Tenure must be completed by the end of Spring 2013 (May 9, 2014). Please notify Faculty and Staff Services ([email protected] ) with the names and proposed rank of faculty moving forward with Promotion and/or Tenure DH seeks external letters and proceeds with review process – mentoring faculty members as they complete their dossier Final departmental votes cast and DH writes the cover letter(s) 1) One hard copy of the promotion and tenure dossier due in G-4. Dossier binder should be white and one inch in size. Please use Times New Roman and 12 pt. font. 2) Checklists, forms, and additional information may be found at: http://www.coe.uga.edu/faculty-staffservices/promotion-and-evaluation/promotion/

College Promotion and Tenure Committee meets with Dean and Associate Dean to receive charge, go over UGA policies and procedures, COE assistance, confirm future meetings dates/times, and establish working procedures. College CTF Promotion Committee meets with Dean and Tuesday, August 26, 2014, 2:30-4:30 Associate Dean to receive charge, go over UGA policies G4-L – CTF Initial Meeting and procedures, COE assistance, confirm future meetings dates/times, and establish working procedures. Results of committee deliberations submitted to th September 19 by 12:00 pm (Friday) Associate Dean of Faculty and Staff Services: a) a summary sheet indicating votes for each candidate, and (b) a transmittal letter for each candidate informing them of the vote and rationale. Monday, August 25, 2014, 2:00-4:00 G4-L – P&T Initial Meeting

September 22nd (Monday)

Results reported to the Department Heads.

September 24th by 5:00 pm (Wednesday)

All candidates receive written rationale of vote from the college P&T committee.

September 29th by 5:00pm (Monday)

Dean’s independent review letter shared with candidates

October 3rd by 5:00 pm (Friday)

Candidate’s response (if any) to college committee’s vote and rationale is due. Candidates have seven working days from date of notification of committee recommendation. Any response is to be included in dossier. [Fall 07 Guidelines for Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure, p.32, section 2e].

October 6th by noon (Monday)
