• How often do we attempt to rearrange God’s household, which God has already set-up according to His plan? • God has given us guidelines for preaching and teaching, shown us how to select leaders, and given us instruction on meeting people’s needs and then we fumble through ministry not even noticing God’s design.
I. Some Observations About The Church Today 1.) In some churches there is a deeper commitment to tradition than to the scriptures. 2.) In some churches there is more care about being successful by the world’s standards than modeling Biblical values.
3.) In some churches there seems to be confusion and uncertainty about their God-given mission. 4.) In some churches there is a polarization into groups or categories rather than being unified by love.

What Do We Take From this Overview? 1. We must have a 21st century church based on 1st century truth. 2. There is always going to be tension between Scriptural truth and human ideas.
3. Truth is truth, whether you and I practice it or not. 4. Regardless of the church’s weaknesses, it will never fail.
