TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER Based at Carlisle/Crewe Starting salary: £48,878 per annum (AT Grade) DRS now have an exciting new vacancy for a Technical Support Engineer who will be responsible for supporting the Senior Engineering Management Team in all aspects of the DRS fleet. Successful candidates will be required to perform duties which will include: 

Support the Senior Engineering Management Team by assisting with the reviewing and production of all documents relating to the fleet, to include but not exclusively be technical documents, maintenance plans and working instructions.



Produce full specifications to support the generation of tenders in order that the work contracted out to external parties meets the expectations and requirements of the company.



To supervise work undertaken by all 3rd party contractors commissioned to deliver any aspect of the annual project program and also any routine maintenance. Feedback any issues accordingly. To assist in ensuring that all works undertaken in the delivery of the capital project program are carried out in accordance with current legislation and industry standards. Assist in managing the relevant procedures within DRS in accordance with changes in regulation and operation of relevant assets. Work with the Engineering Standards team where applicable to assist the Senior Engineering Management Team in the modification and delivery of new and existing fleet vehicles. Provide technical support to the Senior Engineering Management Team for investigations pertaining to fleet vehicle maintenance, overhaul and modification practices. Represent DRS at forums as directed by the Senior Engineering Management Team. Carry out competence assessments and assist in the mentoring and training of new starters and apprentices.
