Election Day in Indian Valley _____________________________ election day citizens vote

This is Election Day. Citizens vote on Election Day. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver live on York Street. They are going to vote. Dan Hill says, “This is a fishing day. I am going fishing.” Mrs. Hill says, “No, Dan. You are not going fishing. You and I are going to vote. This is Election Day.” Dan yells, “Yes! I am going to vote. Citizens vote on Election Day.”

Mr. Kim is at the pet shop. Uncle Ted runs the pet shop. Uncle Ted says, “This is Election Day. Are you going to vote, Mr. Kim?” Mr. Kim says, “No. I am not a citizen.” Mrs. Queen is at the pet shop. She gets a pet pup for her girl Ann. She says, “Ann is not in Indian Valley. She lives on Apple Hill. Ann and I are going for a run.”

Uncle Ted says, “This is Election Day. This is the day for citizens to vote. Are you going to vote?” Mrs. Queen says, “Yes, I am. Mr. Queen and I are going to vote. © Literacy Council of Montgomery County, MD., Inc., Revised 2012

Ann and I are not going for a run.” Mrs. Queen has her telephone. “This is Election Day.” She says to Ann. Citizens vote on Election Day. Mrs. Queen has two girls. Liz Queen is ten. She says, “Am I going to vote?” Mrs. Queen says, “No, Liz. You are ten. Children do not vote.” Jill is Uncle Ted’s girl. She is 18. She is going to vote. Mr. Kim is not a citizen. He is not going to vote. The Olivers are going to vote. Mr. and Mrs. Queen are going to vote. Uncle Ted is going to vote. Jill is going to vote. Dan Hill is going to vote. And he is going fishing. Citizens vote on Election Day.
