In this new workshop series, teachers gain an innovative slant on how to strengthen STEAM teaching by injecting arts, technology, and implementing “Design Thinking” concepts to engage students in the learning process. Teachers will share ideas and discuss integrated work in design, art, engineering, math, science, technology, language arts, and beyond. Throughout this professional development series, teaches will explore: The connection between the design process and STEAM team discovery The use of literature as a basis for design challenges The process of design thinking used by leading universities and industries Access to resources that support and integrate design projects into the curriculum Different design types and challenges that integrate perspectives from each area of STEAM
