2016 Spring Conference Logistics Title: Coalition for Government Procurement 2016 Spring Training Conference – Outlook into 2017: What Transition Means for your Federal Business Opportunities Location: Fairview Park Marriott, 3111 Fairview Park Dr, Falls Church, VA 22042 Date of the Event: April 28, 2016 1. Description of the event The event is a semi-annual training conference. There are plenary sessions that address current topics and trends affecting government-wide acquisition. Afternoon breakout sessions allow for more in-depth discussion and analysis of specific acquisitions and related topics. The Conference presentations and breakout sessions will focus on discussion and interaction with key government-wide acquisition organizations and tools for developing compliance programs and procedures to meet major government requirements. 2. Who has invited the employee to attend? The Coalition for Government Procurement (Coalition) 3. Who is sponsoring the event? The Coalition is a trade association of firms selling commercial services and products to the Federal Government. Our members collectively account for a significant amount of the sales generated through the General Services Administration (GSA) Multiple Award Schedules and Government-wide Acquisition Contracts programs. The Coalition does not hold a GSA contract. As a collective voice for our members’ concerns, we focus our outreach efforts on the General Services Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Management and Budget, Department of Defense, and Capitol Hill. Our membership includes 80% of the top 20 GSA Schedule contractors, as well as 70% of the top 20 GSA IT Schedule Contractors. Moreover, the top 5 industry leaders, according to Bloomberg Government’s BGOV 200 Annual Report for 2014, are members of the Coalition.

Our membership encompasses small, medium, and large business concerns throughout the country, providing a significant amount of jobs for the US economy. The Coalition is the only association of its type with a membership spanning a broad cross-section of service and commodity types. 4. How many people will be invited to the event? How many people are expected to attend the event? The event is widely publicized through various media vehicles. The Coalition extends invitations to over 4,000 contacts on its mailing list. Based on experience with similar events we expect approximately 300 people to attend. 5. Who is expected to attend the event? Provide a broad statement of the types of attendees, such as government employees, business representatives, media, etc. Invited participants include Coalition members, OFPP, DOD, DHS, VA, GSA, NASA, NIH, and other government agencies and the public. The audience will consist primarily of member companies of the Coalition for Government Procurement. The event is open to the public, including to the press. Media outlets that follow government contracting, such as Federal News Radio, will often cover the conference. 6. The cost of the event per person. This will likely be the ticket price charged for attendance at the event. The price is a range from $0 to $575 based on membership tiers. The government price is $0 to $100. The Coalition does not charge admission for speakers and invited participants. Price is subject to adjustment. 7. Transportation – the conference venue is available by mass transit. The closest metro stop is East Falls Church on the Orange line. 8. How would attendance further the government’s programs and operations? The audience will consist primarily of member companies of the Coalition for Government procurement. Collectively these companies are significant stakeholders in government wide acquisition programs.

With the curtailment of industry days and other government conferences, it is critical to provide alternative platforms for effective communication between the government and its industry stakeholders. Open and transparent communication is more important than ever as customer requirements become more complex and budgets become more constrained. The Spring Training Conference facilitates an information exchange between industry and key government touch points affecting federal acquisition. The Spring Training Conference Myth-Busters dialogue provides an opportunity to engage with private sector partners focusing on improving contracting outcomes, increasing competition, and delivering best value for customer agencies. The Conference gives government shared services organization a unique opportunity to interact with its customer agencies and the contractors that support them as several major agencies including DOD, OMB, GSA, and DHA are expected to participate. 9. What type of Government speakers normally participate in Coalition Events? High ranking executives throughout the federal community have spoken at the Coalition Conferences including the Administrator of OFPP; the Administrator of the GSA; the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics; and the VA Deputy Assistant Secretary, Acquisition and Logistics. Directors of major government wide acquisition programs such as the GSA Schedules, NASA SWEP and NITAAC acquisition centers also regularly participate in Coalition Training events. 10.
