Josiah R. 4th Grade Changing Batteries A long time ago I was waiting for my son to come visit me but he never came. He sent me a box with a robot in it. He left me a note saying sorry I didn’t get to come. The robot needed batteries so I got batteries from my closet and put them in him. He turned on and said, “Hello there. I am your helper. How can I help?” I said, “Yes, you can sweep.” Then I gave the robot a broom and he swept the floor. I went on my rocking chair and watched TV, and then I fell asleep. The robot put a blanket on me and he watched TV and saw that there were circus tickets on sale. Then I woke up and I said, “Would you like me to buy two tickets?” He said yes, so I went online and bought two tickets, one for him and one for me. He looked so happy but we had to wait three days to go. Then I cooked soup for me and I gave the robot some oil. We ate our food and then I made his bed and we went to sleep. The next morning, we ate oatmeal and it was circus day. We got ready and put our shoes on but we had to wait 2 hours before we could go. So we watched TV. We also changed the fluid in my car. We still had to wait 1 ½ hours so I went outside and sat on my chair. It was sunny out there so I told the robot to grab my hat. Suddenly, I started to get sick. Then I started to notice that the batteries to the robot were running out. Then I got some new batteries from my closet and put them in the robot. After that I got sicker, my head was hot and I was coughing a lot. I couldn’t go to the circus but I had to make the robot’s dream come true. So I just took some pills. I waited and waited and then I passed out and I was in heaven. Then the robot came and saw me on the floor. Then he got some batteries and put them in my pocket. He tried and tried but nothing worked. After that his batteries started to run out then he passed away too. Then we went to the circus but in heaven. The end.
