MARICOPA INTEGRATED HEALTH SYSTEM SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT NOTICE 90-17-125-SSP TUBERCULOSIS (TB) SCREENING/TESTING – Reagents & Supplies Closing Date: Tuesday, January 17, 2017 11:00AM, Phoenix, AZ Time Maricopa County Special Health Care District dba Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS) recommends the award of a sole source contract to Qiagen, Inc. to provide Quantiferon blood screening and TB testing for MIHS employees and patients. A review of other methods of TB screening has identified Qiagen as the only vendor that offers the unique test in which it is the only test that is an in-tube method, only requiring interaction with a patient one time with a minimum amount of blood. Qiagen also has the exclusive rights to the patented Quantiferon technology and licenses for exclusive use of tuberculosis specific antigens. MIHS is not aware of any other vendor that possesses the performance capabilities, product scientific design or service scope required by MIHS for these testing services. MIHS will proceed with this award unless another vendor can demonstrate that they are capable of meeting all of the requirements set forth herein.
