Services Finding Materials and Use of the Online Catalog The Library staff can provide assistance in using GIL (The Libraries’ catalog) and GALILEO, a state-wide collection of over 400 databases, covering a wide variety of topics. Individual research conferences may also be scheduled with CML Librarian.

Instructional Programs The CML offers class sessions in library skills and tours of the CML. Instruction is designed in consultation with faculty and may be planned for a specific course. To make an appointment for these services, contact the CML/Education Librarian.

Circulation Patrons must have a University ID or another form of official photographic identification to check out materials. Students must be currently enrolled with a UGACard; faculty and staff must be currently employed. Read more about the Libraries’ circulation policies.

Reserve Materials Materials are placed on reserve at the request of instructors who wish to make assigned readings available to all of their students. Most items are placed on open-shelving and available for use in the Center but with restricted circulation. Faculty may select one of the following loan periods: non-circulating, one-day, three-day, or seven-day. Contact the CML Coordinator for more information. COPYRIGHT AND FAIR USE The Libraries do not provide legal advice on Fair Use for educational purposes, but we do provide a link to a site provided by American University’s Washington College of Law.
