WHY CONCORD? • The Battle of Lexington was the first military clash of the Ame American rican Revolution. It was a brief skirmish that took place on April 19, 1775 between some 70 colonial minutemen and about 700 British soldiers marching towards Concord, MA.

The fighting at Lexington and Concord marked the beginning of the American Revolution. The shot that was fired at Lexington is said to have been “the shot heard around the world.”
