EMERGING INNOVATORS WIN SCHOLARSHIPS TO EVENT OF THE YEAR 60 seconds of a lifetime: Ten Australians present their innovations Creative Innovation Asia Pacific 2013: Race to the Future E6. Environment. Energy. Economy. Education. Entrepreneurship. Ethical Leadership – 27-29 November Melbourne, Australia

Combining over 40 world-leading global thinkers, futurists, innovators and leaders with Australia’s business, community, government and industry sectors and the general public, Creative Innovation 2013 will offer credible forecasts, innovation strategies and practices to help inspire diverse thinking and transform the leadership of organisations. Ten Australians have won the opportunity to present their innovations to the world’s elite business thinkers and leaders at Creative Innovation Asia Pacific 2013 as recipients of the Ci2013 Innovation Leader Scholarships. From a pool of outstanding applications ten emerging leaders were selected for their achievements as founders of a start-up commercial or social enterprise. The ten scholarship winners each receive a place at this year’s Creative Innovation 2013 giving them the opportunity to rub shoulders with key industry leaders, share and discuss their ideas and issues, and present their innovation ideas to renowned event speakers and event attendees.

Winners of the Innovation Leader Scholarships for Creative Innovation 2013 are: Anthony Aisenberg (VIC) is the Founder of CrowdSpot which creates customised interactive digital maps for people to give input on geographic locations. Nkandu Beltz (VIC) is a young social pioneer, founder and director of YEPA (Youth Empowerment Program Australia). YEPA strives to establish a sense of ownership and belonging in youth communities while enabling them to become proactive leaders. Andrew Crowe (SA) is the Co-Founder of Bioburner, an effort towards producing a low-emission cookstove for use in the developing world with emphasis on affordability, efficiency and ease of manufacture. Shane Greenup (NSW) is the founder of rbutr, a browser plugin which tells people whenever the page they are looking at has been disputed elsewhere on the net. This provides critical analysis and critical thinking in our everyday experience of the web, rather than just passive information delivery Stephen Johnson (VIC) is the Co-Founder of Eunev, the world’s first online market place for business events providing an end-to-end solution to find, plan and book venues and talent for business events.

Katerina Kimmorley (NSW) is the Co-Founder of Pollinate Energy, a social business, to provide solar lights and mobile phone chargers and smoke reducing cookstoves to urban slum communities in India. Ben Olsen (SA) is the Founder of Re-timer sleep glasses, a device that helps maintain a consistent sleepwake rhythm to maximise sleep quality. Gretha Oost (VIC) is the Founder of Project O an enterprise that addresses plastic pollution by re-designing our water public habits in public spaces. Catherine Prosser (ACT) is the CEO & Co-Founder of StageBitz, a global network for the entertainment industry to design, create, sell, hire, trade or giveaway sets, props and costumes as well as intellectual resources. StageBitz aims to radically improve the environmental & business sustainability of the arts. Zezan Tam (VIC) is the Founder of Lifestock, a company working on cultured meat technology to feed the ever increasing global demand for animal protein in a more sustainable way.

Creative Universe founder and Ci2013 Executive Producer, Tania de Jong AM says the scholarship winners will be well received by event attendees for contributing innovative solutions in the race to the future. “The theme for Ci2013 this year is “Race to the Future E6. Environment. Energy. Economy. Education. Entrepreneurship. Ethical Leadership” and our scholarship winners have embraced innovative thinking and creativity to bring their fresh ideas, leadership and courage to a range of challenging issues,” Ms de Jong said.
