Reference: SCAA CAD ANS/68 Civil Aviation Directive: Rules of the Air DIRECTIVE GENERAL Civil Aviation (Safety) Regulations, 2017, Part 23, empowers the Authority to issue Civil Aviation Directives on the matters which are prescribed by regulations. PURPOSE Document SCAA CAD-ANS/68 contains the technical standards, which are applicable in respect of Rules of the Air.

It is hereby directed that air navigation and operational services, and procedures shall conform to the Seychelles Technical Standards known as STS - ANNEX RULES OF THE AIR, inclusive of Article 1 - Subject matter and scope, Article 2 - Definitions, ANNEX - RULES OF THE AIR and all associated Appendices. COMMENCEMENT This Directive shall come into force on 01st July 2017

APPLICABILITY Civil Aviation (Safety) Regulations, 2017, Part 15 – Aircraft in Flight, regulation 68 – Rules of the Air.

References to 'Union' is not applicable in the context of Seychelles;

Civil Aviation (Safety) Regulations, 2017, Part 23, empowers the Authority to incorporate by reference into a directive, any national or international aviation standard.

'Union Legislation' is not applicable in the context of Seychelles;

The Seychelles Technical Standards, ANNEX RULES OF THE AIR of Commission Implementing Regulation 923/2012, as amended, is incorporated into the regulatory requirements contained in this document.

SERA.3230 - Water operations, applicable in Seychelles Territory;

SERA.5005 - VFR Flights: (d) is not applicable in Seychelles Territory. Seychelles exceeds this requirement as follows: VFR flights shall not operate above FL145; (e), is not applicable as VFR flight are not authorised to operate above FL285 in Seychelles Territory.
