Slippery Times: Snow, Ice, Wet Floors In cold weather conditions, people usually drive according to road conditions, but don’t always exercise the same caution when walking across snowy, icy or wet surfaces.

spots such as stairways or ramps Be careful when stepping into or out of a vehicle; keep

SHOE CLEATS are available upon request for employees working outside Always use handrails on stairways Once inside, carefully wipe your feet on the entry mat

Many falls on snow or ice occur so quickly the person is on the ground and in pain before realizing what’s happened. Serious injuries or even death may occur when someone’s body crashes onto a snow or icecovered surface.

If You Start to Fall: Avoid putting your arms out which can cause a broken bone, instead relax, go limp and allow your thighs, hips and shoulders to contact the ground in sequence

How to Protect Yourself: When walking on slippery surfaces, slow down and take smaller steps
