A Training Workshop for Municipal Professionals and Leaders Date: June 10-11, 2010 Location: Crowne Plaza Lord Beaverbrook Hotel, Fredericton, Petitcodiac Room (jr. ballroom) On June 10-11, municipal representatives from across New Brunswick will participate in an interactive training workshop, focused on knowledge exchange, planning / developing sustainable communities, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving efficiency and energy management, and securing economic, social, and environmental benefits for their communities. This workshop is a highly hands-on and interactive experience. Facilitators will utilize a variety of demonstrations, worksheet activities, graphic slides, role-plays, case studies and colourful discussions to stimulate a highly effective and enjoyable learning environment. Goal: participants gain a better understanding of capital asset management and greenhouse gas inventorying, local action planning and energy management; municipalities are applying bestpractices to realize community plans/projects which meet environmental and economic goals. Target Audience: Municipal planners & planning commissions, administrators, environmental coordinators, department heads, facility managers, public works staff, environmental contract consultants, and/or councillors with environmental portfolios. Additional participants may include: members of the private sector (builders, developers, service providers) and academia, consulting experts, representatives of community/non-profit organizations and finance providers. Expected # of participants 50-60 (seating is limited, first come first serve) Registration Fee: $80, Covers the cost of Meals, Location/Equipment, Materials, Expert Facilitators. Does not include social event / dinner and overnight stays. Registration fees must be paid by mail.
