Recent Projects Assisting a University to Shape Their Policies and Practices: An Academic Student Satisfaction Survey
A very large, nationally-known academic institution was interested in retaining their students and growing their referral base in the competitive academic institution business. Our task was to integrate four different satisfaction instruments, from different departments in different locations in the country. We integrated demographic data (age, employment status, gender) by satisfaction with facilities, advising, admissions, financial aid, career services, and overall satisfaction. We applied inferential statistics (e.g., analysis of variance, correlations, and regression analyses) to understand the cumulative effect and difference of factors on satisfaction. Inferential statistics allowed us to draw systemic conclusions from the data and helped that University make decisions for their organization’s recruitment and marketing strategy.
Multi-Year Study on the Influence of Individuals and Organizations on Olympic Team Banned Drug Use
A Country’s Olympic team’s coach surveyed the likelihood and correlates of banned drug use on the team. We examined elite athletes’ perceptions, knowledge, and permissibility of doping, their use of alternative therapies from Chinese medicine, vitamins, massage, hypnosis, psychological training, and their willingness to try different therapies in the future. Correlations were conducted to examine the influence of individuals and organizations (e.g., parents, spouses, club doctors, coaches, club officials, and media) on the athletes’ perceptions and behaviors. This is a multiyear study and the initial findings are being presented as a baseline.
