TITLE: Quayside Sites 1-5 Carbon Footprint
Report for Mass Timber Embodied Energy AUTHOR: CadMakers ABSTRACT The Carbon Calculator is a publicly-accessible tool, resident with the Canadian Wood Council, that estimates the environmental impact associated with a given project based on the volume and type of timber used. The calculator estimates impact across a range of factors, including the amount of carbon stored, avoided greenhouse gas emissions, and equivalencies to reductions in car travel or home energy use, among other factors. Sidewalk Labs (specifically the Buildings Pillar) utilized the Carbon Calculator, in collaboration with consultant teams, to estimate and evaluate the environmental impacts associated with different build program variations at different scales, which ultimately informed the proposed plans at Quayside and Villiers West and our overall tall timber strategy.
