Michael Goshko Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese practice of cultivating the body’s internal energy, which is called Qi (“chee”). There are many types and traditions of Qi Gong but they all focus on the breath and can be considered a moving or non-moving (depending on the style) yogic pranayama. Where western exercise (weight training and cardiovascular) primarily focus on the outside of the body, Qi Gong works the body and mind inside to out leaving one relaxed, focused, and at peace.

Qi Gong for health and longevity is a set of little to no impact standing exercises and a small Daoist meditation on a chair at the end.  It promotes blood circulation, lymph flow, stretches the muscles and fascial planes, and increases concentration and focus. It therefore treats any ailment and helps prevent chronic disease. Learn the exercises in this class, to take home, practice and reap the fruits of your effort from this beautiful, peaceful and subtle dance of movement and breath. #206, 2016 Sherwood Drive Sherwood Park . yogafortoday.ca
