Welcome to the Global Watch Weekly Report  Prometheus (Greek: Προμηθεύς) is a Titan, culture hero, and trickster figure who in Greek mythology is credited with the creation of man from clay and the theft of fire for human use, an act that enabled progress and civilization. He is known for his intelligence, and as a champion of mankind. The punishment of Prometheus as a consequence of the theft is a major theme of his mythology, and is a popular subject of both ancient and modern art. Zeus, king of the Olympian gods, sentenced the Titan to eternal torment for his transgression. The immortal Prometheus was bound to a rock, where each day an eagle, the emblem of Zeus, was sent to feed on his liver, only to have it grow back to be eaten again the next day. In some stories, Prometheus is freed at last by the hero Heracles (Hercules). Among the ancient Greeks, Prometheus was venerated as a divinity. In the Western classical tradition, Prometheus became a figure who represented human striving, particularly the quest for scientific knowledge, and the risk of overreaching or unintended consequences. In particular, he was regarded in the Romantic era as embodying the lone genius whose efforts to improve human existence could also result in tragedy: Mary Shelley, for instance, gave The Modern Prometheus as the subtitle to her novel Frankenstein (1818). It is thus of interest that a movie would emerge in June 2012 by the very same name. The movie Prometheus is a 2012 science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and written by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof. Set in the late 21st century, the story centers on the crew of the spaceship Prometheus as they follow a star map discovered among the remnants of several ancient Earth civilizations. Led to a distant world and an advanced civilization, the crew seeks the origins of humanity, but instead discovers a threat that could cause the extinction of the human race. The big importance of reviewing this movie is because it provides exposure to the debate regarding the origins of mankind and reaches a conclusion which is squarely at odds with the genesis account of creation.

He is looking up at a massive circular vessel (your classic UFO) as it departs from planet Earth and ascends into the sky - leaving the engineer to sacrifice himself in order to create life on this new world. He drinks a dark liquid but then its body disintegrates and falls into a waterfall, seeding Earth Inside they find several stone cylinders, a monolithic with its DNA. statue of a humanoid head, and the corpse of a giant alien, thought to be one of the engineers. The movie then fast forwards to the year 2089, archaeologist couple Elizabeth Shaw and Charlie Holloway discover Sumerian type 30,000 year old rock paintings in a cave in the island of Skye in Scotland among several unconnected ancient cultures which seems to be a visual code conveying an ancient star map.

A rapidly approaching storm forces the crew to return to Prometheus, leaving crew members Milburn and Fifield stranded in the structure. After spending many hours alone inside the structure, Fifield and Milburn are attacked by snake-like creatures. Milburn is killed, and corrosive fluid from one of the creatures melts Fifield's helmet, exposing him to the leaking dark liquid.

PROMETHEUS: THE STORY  Blackberry Under the Spotlight  In the ship, the captured engineer's DNA is analyzed and found to match that of humans. Meanwhile, David investigates the cylinder and discovers a dark liquid. He intentionally infects Holloway with the substance by spiking his drink to see what impact the substance would have on Holloway. Later that same day, Shaw and the infected Holloway have sex.

It is interesting to note that Holloway’s body starts to show the characteristics that mimicked that of the 'Sacrificed Engineer' in the beginning of the film; by having his veins turn black and his skin starting to deteriorate. His eye and pupils also transform.

The following day when the storm has cleared the crew returns to the structure to find their two comrades only to find Milburn's corpse. But more importantly David discovers a room containing an engineer in stasis and a star map highlighting Earth. When they reach the Prometheus, Vickers refuses to let the team back onto the ship with Holloway fearing a contagious viral infection and Holloway surrenders himself to Vickers' flamethrower, in an attempt to protect Shaw and the rest of the crew from what he fears may ensue from his mutation if left alive. We see Holloway's body completely engulfed in flames as he slowly dies. Even Vickers seems to be shocked and horrified by what she sees. The engineer in the Temple (upon David waking Meanwhile a medical scan reveals that Shaw, him up), is wearing a bio-mechanical suit but why? despite earlier on in the movie known to be infertile, is pregnant with an alien foetus. Shaw uses an automated surgery table to cut the alien offspring from her abdomen and she escapes from the operating room theatre with the alien embryo still alive but trapped in the operating theatre thrashing around and seemingly growing at an accelerated rate.

The theory is that the Engineers on LV-223 (the moon on which PROMETHEUS takes place) are the 'military' of the Engineers - and, as Captain Janek speculates in the film; that the temples on this moon are actually military testing facilities. This is where they develop the biological weapons, which will aid them in the cleansing of planets before creating new life. Or -- are they to be used as weapons of war against other races throughout the universe? One thing is for sure, LV-223 is NOT the Engineer home world.

Weyland the founder of the corporation funding the expedition is then is revealed to have been in stasis aboard Prometheus all along and he explains to Shaw that he intends to go back to the engineer that David found and ask the engineer to prevent his death from old age. Weyland and a team returns to the structure and awaken the engineer, who is discovered to be the pilot of an engineer spaceship. David speaks to the engineer in a language resembling Sumerian in which the engineer understands but then responds by decapitating the android and then killing Weyland and the others with him.

Meanwhile Holloway's infection rapidly ravages his body, and he is rushed back to Prometheus.

Shaw however manages to escape and exit the engineer compund whilst the engineer kills the crew and then activates his space ship in which he is attempting to complete its mission by travelling back to earth to release a liquid. The topic of religion is obliquely addressed in the movie, as it is revealed Elizabeth's presence on the ship has more to do with the fact she is "a true believer" than her skills as an archaeologist. INTERVIEW WITH RIDLEY SCOTT  In December 2011, Erlingur Gretar, Editor-in-chief of Filmophilia.com interviewed Ridley Scott about his movie, Prometheus which has now been released in June 2012. The interview transcript is as follows.

Erlingur Grétar Einarsson: What [part of Prometheus] are you shooting in Iceland? What role in the film does it “play”? Ridley Scott: It’s, you know, whenever you’re talking about science-fiction, it always sounds pretentious or corny. It’s actually “The beginning of time”. But I think we’ve got it right. (He laughs) So, it will be a pretty good beginning of time. EGE: [The Prometheus’ cast] is a very impressive line-up. RS: Yeah, you know, we were staying with the notion that there were no stars in the first film [1979's Alien]. I think it was [Weaver‘s] first film. They were not stars. EGE: Skerritt had some name recognition, maybe at the same level Fassbender is now. RS: Yeah. I didn’t make that as a plan, you know. Sometimes it’s better when you have a story, where you’re gonna lose people during the story, that they are lesser known. Of course, Charlize [Theron] is very well known, but she hangs around ‘till the end. (He laughs) EGE: So you are linking this directly with the Alien films? RS: Not at all. EGE: Not at all? RS: No. EGE: No? RS: I mean, you could actually say, and there’s a quote I did, a pretty good quote: By the end of the third act you start to realize there’s a DNA of the very first alien, but none of the subsequent aliens. To tell you what that is is a pity, and I’m not going to tell you, because it’s actually pretty good, pretty organic to the process and to the original. But we go back, we don’t go forward. EGE: The official synopsis from Fox says that this revolves around the “Alien Gods”, the “Space Jockey” from the first film.

D

INTERVIEW WITH RIDLEY SCOTT  RS: Yeah, so there you have that. I was always amazed that, I mean, I’ve only done two science-fictions, but I was always amazed that no one asked who the hell the Space Jockey was. He wasn’t even called the Space Jockey. During the film they started to call it the Space Jockey. I don’t know who started that one off. I always thought it was amazing that no one ever asked who he was, and why was he there? What was all that about? I sat thinking about this for a while and thought, well, there’s a story! And the other four [films] missed it! So, here it is. EGE: Will you be using any of Giger’s original design for this film? RS: We’ve had a pretty good relationship with Giger for many years. I was the first one to go see him in Switzerland, and persuade him to get on a plane. He wouldn’t get on a plane, because he was afraid of flying. And he finally came to Shepperton. He was with me for eleven months. Never went into town, stayed over a pub in Shepperton. Very non-Giger, not exotic. You’d think he’d be in a suite in a hotel. He’s in a pub. He was in a room over a pub, and he was very happy there. And yeah, I brought him in, I showed him what we were doing, showed him the story and he liked it a lot. So he’s doing a little bit of work for me. He’s been doing some murals, big murals, which we’ll see in almost one of the first chambers we encounter when we land where we’re gonna go. EGE: The tone of the film, according to the official synopsis, and the tone of the premise, sounds a lot more mythological than the original Alien films. The original Alien films revolved around industrial settings and premises and social situations rather than anything mythological. RS: The original Alien was a pretty savage engine. I’ve always said it was a C-movie done in an A-way. Because it was the Old Dark House, you know. Seven people in the Old Dark House, and they’re all going to die. (He laughs) And they’re gonna die horribly and that in itself is a tricky exercise, because you can do it well, you can do it badly. But somehow that worked. It turned out pretty well. I think one of the reasons why I’ve never gone back to science-fiction, even though I’ve often noodled around, thought about it, looked for story, looked for material, is that there’s a nice purity to the original Alien. It’s fairly pure. And this one does actually raise all kinds of other questions, because if someone could, a being, could be as monstrously clever to create something like we experienced in the very first one – I always figured it’s a weapon, and I always figured that [the ship in the first Alien] was a carrier of weapons. Therefore, who is that, inside that suit? That wasn’t a skeleton, that was a suit. And if you open up the suit, what do you get inside it? And why were they going, where were they going? Also, I ring off of… there’s a writer, Erich von Däniken. One of his most famous books was called Chariots of the Gods. Everyone thinks he was out of his mind, you know, for number one, “we are the creation of gods”, if you go back to the 19th century anthropologists, Darwin, and say if you go look at Darwin for the moment and look at the Darwinian idea, the Darwinian thesis, which is seemingly very logical.

D

INTERVIEW WITH RIDLEY SCOTT  You know, you’re going from something that gradually comes to two legs and gradually here we are. Then you can go beyond that and you look more mathematically at the feasibility of how we’re able to be sitting here, right now, in this place. I’m talking to you, and I’ve got this thing (he picks up his cellphone) which looks like Star Trek. This is “Beam me up, Scotty”-stuff. You wouldn’t have believed this thing could exist thirty years ago. Things have changed so dramatically that you can start looking at the idea that all our history can be completely wrong and misguided. Because at some point someone has to put a statement down and have their own thesis, have their own theories. That was then later accepted or later is gradually dissolved and re-drawn or reworked. So now you’ve got the whole changed attitude with NASA, the church and I think even Hawking. Over the last thirty years have gone from “It’s highly unlikely that there’s anyone else in our galaxy, any other force, being in our galaxy,” to now, where they’re conceding that there are probably thousands of different lifeforms in this galaxy. And I think Hawking actually said, “Let’s hope they don’t visit.” And I think the church has conceded as well that it would not be against the word of God if we conceded that there are other lifeforms in this galaxy. So, if you take that out, then the door is open. To me, it’s entirely logical. It’s entirely ridiculous to believe that we are the only ones here. That’s why my first thought is that for us to be sitting here right now is actually mathematically impossible without a lot of assistance. Who assisted? Who made the right decisions? Who was pushing and pulling to adjust us? That’s a fair question. EGE: Prometheus has the Brandywine production tag on it [a Production slate only used for Alien films since 1979] Do you feel any pressure going back to that world? RS: No. Not at all, really. I had a good time making it. They gave me an opportunity to make it. I’d only done The Duellists at that point which was actually a pretty good film. Then someone had bizarrely seen it at Cannes and thought, “I wonder if he wants to do science-fiction,” which couldn’t be more different. I read it and thought, “Wow! This is fantastic,” because at that moment I was engaged in a lot of, I was reading a lot Jean Giraud’s “Moebius” stuff. The great French illustrator, beyond everything. I’d been looking at him just with the view to, you know, one day I wanted to do science-fiction. I’d seen Stanley Kubrick’s 2001 and that for me was certainly a door opening. You go, “Wow, that works,” and what am I gonna do? So, I happened to be looking at Moebius’ stuff, just out of interest, because I’m a really… I can really draw and paint. I was really influenced by what I saw, but didn’t know where to apply it. When I read the Alien script, I just saw Moebius all the way, and I said, “I’ll do it! I know how to do it!” I was in Hollywood, and we sat for 22 hours straight. “Do you want to change it?” – “Nope.” – “What do you want to do?” – “Shoot it.” That was it. Bingo. People were saying, “Let’s rewrite the third act, that is a disaster.” I said, “I’ll do it.” Once you’re doing it, you can adjust it. EGE: Do you see Noomi [Rapace] as something of a successor to Sigourney? RS: Yeah, I mean, they’re quite different women. Sigourney, to start with, is 6’1’’ in stocking feet, and Noomi insists that she is 5’1’’ in stocking feet. (He laughs) I look at a lot of foreign movies, and unfortunately a lot of mainstream movies aren’t terribly good. You know. (He laughs) The most influential for me are the new ones around the corner, and I look at a lot of foreign films and a lot of Scandinavian films. The Scandinavians have a very good touch for making movies, you guys (Icelanders) as well. I saw Dragon Tattoo a year ago, the first one. And, “Wow, who is that?” and from that I said, “This is the girl that’s going to do the film.” She came to L.A. and I met with her, and discovered that she’s in fact extraordinarily posh, as opposed to punk. So there was a real actress. A real actress, very, very good. So, I don’t know, she will just do great. EGE: She has this same fire that Sigourney brought, as well. RS: I would say that Noomi’s even more volatile and passionate. And sure, she looks good. But the combination of that and intelligence is a great combination.

THE BIBLICAL VERDICT ON PROMETHEUS  Blackberry Under the Spotlight  Prometheus as a movie opens up the Pandora’s box on deep searching questions such as 'Where did we come from?'; 'What happens when we die?'; 'Why are we here?'; 'Who created us?' As the movie unfolds in addressing these questions it becomes clear that the central premise of Prometheus is that humans were genetically created by an alien race of super-beings called 'engineers'.

Däniken's first book, Chariots of the Gods?, was an immediate best seller in the United States, Europe and India, with subsequent books "according to von Däniken, have been translated into 32 languages and together have sold more than 63 million copies." Von Däniken was raised a strict Catholic, and attended the international Catholic school SaintMichel in Fribourg, Switzerland. During his time at the school he rejected the church's interpretations of the Bible, and developed an interest in astronomy and the phenomenon of flying saucers The ancient astronaut theory is based on the premise that extra-terrestrials with superior knowledge of science and engineering landed on earth thousands of years ago, sharing their expertise with early civilizations and forever changing the course of human history.

These engineers choose a planet which can sustain life and the engineers then travel across the universe to it. From there, one engineer must sacrifice himself by taking a mixture of Alien BioFormer which essentially breaks down the Engineer's DNA. From there, the Engineer is destroyed and his DNA is spread to mix with that of the native planet. From there life is created and evolved to what we have become today. It is important to note that Erich Von Daniken was a key influence for Ridley Scott in directing the movie. Erich Anton Paul von Däniken is a Swiss author best known for his controversial claims about extraterrestrial influences on early human culture, in books such as Chariots of the Gods?, published in 1968. Däniken is one of the main figures responsible for popularizing the "paleo-contact" and ancient astronaut hypotheses. This theory grew out of the centuries-old idea that life exists on other planets, and that humans and extra-terrestrials have crossed paths before. The theme of human-alien interaction was thrust into the spotlight in the 1960s, driven by a wave of UFO sightings and popular films like 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). The space program played no small part in this as well ... if mankind could travel to other planets, why couldn't extra-terrestrials visit Earth?

D

THE BIBLICAL VERDICT ON PROMETHEUS  Blackberry Under the Spotlight  Of recent times the ancient astronaut theory was further fuelled by the late Zecariah Sitchin and Maximillien De Lafayette who have written numerous publications supporting the notion that human civilization was engineered by a an extra terrestrial species known as the annunaki who were present during the time of early human history in a period of time associated with the rise of the ancient world of Sumeria.

Interestingly, many of the secular researchers such as Sitchin and De Lafayette use the Bible to back up their claims. Their research frequently redefines the God of the bible as an alien, or race of aliens, (which are created beings if they exist), and this contradicts the immutable attribute of God as the one and only Creator of all things as defined in the Both authors works are primarily based on recent bible (Acts 17:24–26, and many others). nineteenth and twentieth century discoveries of Sumerian clay tablets in Iraq and surrounding areas For example, author Zecharia Sitchin quotes from which when decoded seem to convey that the the bible, (but more from ancient Sumerian texts Sumerians were in direct contact with space visitors documenting the same events of the bible from a pagan perspective), however, he claims humanity whom they saw as “gods”. was created by a race of angelic beings rather than God the Creator. He derives this theory based on his interpretation of the Hebrew word for God which is “Elohim.” Elohim is a plural word, which most Christians attribute to the fact that God has a triune nature, (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), defined throughout the bible and referred to by Christians as the trinity, (a topic which spans beyond the scope of this article), yet Sitchin and other authors agreeing with him, such as his predecessor Erick Von Däniken, author of Chariots of the Gods, contend otherwise. THE CHRISTIAN RESPONSE Bizarrely as it sounds the Christian response to the ancient astronaut theory is not as consistent as one would first think. It is very much varied. For instance, Dr. Donald P. Coverdell, TH.D., author of The Mystery Clouds, does not agree that humanity was created by a race of aliens/angels, but does believe that UFO/extra-terrestrial

THE BIBLICAL VERDICT ON PROMETHEUS  Blackberry Under the Spotlight  manifestations are primarily divine manifestations of God and His faithful angels. He quotes numerous scriptures referring to the events of the Exodus of Israel from Egypt which included miracles and events surrounding a mysterious pillar of fire in the night sky, (Exodus 13:21-22, 14:24; Numbers 14:14; Nehemiah 9:12, 14), and pillar of cloud in the day which rained down a strange bread-like food in the mornings for the Israelites to eat. Other mysterious clouds associated with God and His faithful angels are mentioned throughout scripture, such as the clouds of heaven, (Daniel 7:13; Matthew 24:29-31; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 11:12), the clouds of glory present during Moses’ meetings with God on mount Sinai, the tent of meeting, and with Jesus at the mount of transfiguration, (Exodus 16:10, 24:16, 40:34-35; Numbers 16:42; 1 Kings 8:11; 2 Chronicles 5:14; Isaiah 4:5; Ezekiel 1:28, 10:4; Matthew 17:5; Mark 9:7; Luke 21:27), and the cloud to which Jesus entered when departing the Earth, (Acts 1:9).

2 Kings 2:16 (bracketed comments and bold emphasis added) And they said to him [Elisha], “Behold now, there are with your servants fifty strong men. Please let them go and seek your master [Elijah]. It may be that the Spirit of the LORD has caught him up and cast him upon some mountain or into some valley.” And he said, “You shall not send.”

Then there are Christian authors such as John W. Milor, author of Aliens and the Antichrist and Aliens in the Bible, Finis Jennings Dake, prominent theologian and author of God’s Plan for Man, among many other works, and Christian UFO researcher Jim Cunningham who believe that the universe actually is populated with life. In essence, their argument is that the terms “angels” and “host of heaven,” are synonymous with extraterrestrial life forms of varying alignments, living on other planets, (in the heavens)–spanning multiple dimensions.

For example, author John W. Milor speaks of the butterfly theory of the origin of angels, which suggests that they were initially created as Dr. Coverdell writes about the angelic visitations of reproductive species, reproducing after their own Ezekiel, where the angels were associated with kind, rather than each being an individual creation. what appear to be some type of advanced In his book “Aliens and the Antichrist” he says, technological mode of transportation referred to as wheels within wheels, (Ezekiel 1, 2), and of the The humanoids that we know of as Cro-Magnon and angelic flying Chariots of Fire in God’s angelic army, Neanderthal were among some of the beings that God translated into angels. THE CLASSICAL POSITION

The classic and conservative Christian position is that a combination of the Bible and the Apocrypha reveal clues that would seem to equate the ancient astronaut theory with the pre Noahic period. During this period there was a Satanic attack on the human race by which a specific category of fallen angels The topic of cosmic salvation is also discussed in came down an 1) exposed mankind to forbidden technologies, weapons and alchemy that would lead Milor’s book, Aliens and the Antichrist. to mankind's ruin and 2) genetically modified Hebrews 2:16–18 indicates that salvation is not for angels, specific human lineage's by interbreeding with (which are defined in the bible as non-reproductive immortal humans. beings of the highest order), but for the descendants of Abraham. However, Galatians 3:26-29 states that the descendants of Abraham are those who belong to Christ, which does not limit them to any particular genetic disposition, or species. Therefore if there are beings in the heavens (i.e. outer space), that are not angels then certain scriptures that speak of salvation may actually pertain to them.

These scriptures include Acts 2:39; Colossians 1:20; Ephesians 3:10, and Milor believes that the universe may very well be a mission field that Jesus was referring to when He spoke of reaching sheep from another fold, (John 10:16).

1 ENOCH 8:1 “And Azazel taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all 2 colouring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they 3 were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways. Semjaza taught enchantments, and root-cuttings, Armaros the resolving of enchantments, Baraqijal (taught) astrology, Kokabel the constellations, Ezeqeel the knowledge of the clouds, Araqiel the signs of the earth, Shamsiel the signs of the sun, and Sariel the course of the moon. And as men perished, they cried, and their cry went up to heaven”

Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. *According to Milor note that this scripture refers to reconciling things in heaven, or the heavens, with God. Milor believes this must mean that there are beings dealing with sin and death that dwell in the heavens.

Ephesians 3:10–11 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord…

John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

The classical position would see references to engineers or annunaki as simply alien coated descriptions of beings who are actually spiritual and deceptive in nature and who are part of a deceptive plot to undermine the biblical world view of human origins. The classical biblical view would this from a timeline perspective equate the coming of the annunaki or engineers not at the origin of creation but rather during the antediluvian age before the great flood. Interestingly in the movie “Prometheus”, Shaw who seems to represent established Christianity (by the wearing of a cross as a necklace) is challenged as to whether she still believes in the biblical world view when they perform scientific tests on the DNA of the captured engineer which shows that the DNA sequence matches that of humans. Alex Jones of inforwars.com says “Prometheus is not just a film but a revelation of method revealing the deepest secrets of the Illuminati mystery religion. The film tells of the origins of human kind with a super race of near-immortal genetic engineers, who are contemplating a genetic overwrite or re-write of the Planet Earth when meddling humans stumble into the Magicians laboratory. They are punished for their trespass.”

THE SECRETS OF PROMETHEUS  Blackberry Under the Spotlight

It is important to realize that those ruling families of the global elite very much believe that they are descendants of an extra-terrestrial species. Many researchers such as Jim Marrs have provided evidence to show a trail of consistent belief from the Sumerian and Egyptian dynasties all the way down to Babylon and the Roman Empire and ultimately in the form of the power elite of the twenty first century. The belief that there are specific bloodlines which contain non human DNA giving descendants access to additional spiritual powers, knowledge, wisdom and wealth. The following below is an interesting 15 minute video clip entitled “Secrets of Prometheus”. The video is a great complement to this weeks edition of the Global Watch Weekly and will further cement the belief that the agenda of the movie is a plan to further strengthen the view that mankind's origins is base on a view which is clearly in sharp contrast to the genesis biblical world view.
