Indian Institute of M The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) was established in 1973 by the Government of India. IIMB is also considered as among the most globally oriented among all management institutes in India. In June 2010 IIM Bangalore was awarded the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accreditation, introduced by the European Foundation for Management Education (EFMD) Eduniversal, a unit of French Consulting firm SMBG, ranked IIMB as the top B-school in the South Asia/Central Asia region for the third consecutive year, in October 2010. IIMB was awarded “5 Palmes”, the highest rating accorded to “Universal Business Schools with major international influence”, placing the Institute among the top 100 B-schools worldwide. Notably, the Deans of the 1000 Best Business Schools from 153 countries voted for IIMB as the best business school in the South Asia/Central Asia zone. IIMB has also been rated as India’s top business school by Business Today in 2011.

P o s t G r a d uat e Pr o g r The two-year PGP, the flagship programme at IIMB, is the MBA programme. The focus of the PGP curriculum is on developing a learning manager who is able to adapt to the fast changing world around him/her, without losing sight of underlying values and ethos. The programme lays the foundation for conceptual and analytical reasoning, and gives the students an insight into the dynamics of the business environment. The Post Graduate Programme spans six trimesters spread over two years, with a summer internship at the end of the third trimester. The curriculum places great emphasis on the ability of the student to develop an integrated view of managerial problems and on his/her ability to apply and learn in live situations. IIMB also has a very strong student exchange programme offered in collaboration with leading management schools. With the emphasis on developing managerial skills in leadership and teamwork during the programme, IIMB students are best equipped to manage and lead in the global business scenario which is getting increasingly complex and dynamic.
Recruitment Process at IIM Bangalore The recruitment process at the Institute is coordinated by Career Development Services (CDS) office along with a Student Placement Committee. The Institute provides all support in terms of infrastructure and facilities needed for the recruitment process. Recruitments at IIM Bangalore take place in two phases: • The Lateral Placement Programme addresses the increasing need of corporates for students with work experience. This process is limited to candidates who have at least 22 months of work experience. • The Final Placement Programme is open to all eligible students.

a mm e i n M a n a g e m e n t Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs) PPTs provide an opportunity to students and companies to interact and exchange information. A PPT is typically of 45 minutes duration during which company representatives talk about their organization and the employment opportunities being offered. The students use this time to assess the organization and opportunities. A Question & Answer session also forms part of the PPT.
Students Applications Based on the company presentation and their individual interest levels, students apply to companies. These can be on company application forms or resumes as per company requirements. The applications are forwarded to the company within a specified time frame. The companies are provided sufficient time to evaluate the applications and shortlist suitable candidates.
Shortlists Companies are required to send shortlists to the CDS office at least one week prior to the commencement of final placement interviews. When the companies visit the campus, they can interview the shortlisted candidates and extend job offers to selected ones.

Interview and Offer Letters Companies can make job offers after the interviews. Students may accept or decline offers based on the placement rules. Companies are advised to maintain wait lists in case a student declines an offer. A formal offer letter must be sent to the CDS office within two weeks of the interview date.

He also likes to take responsibilities and execute his work sincerely. In IIM Bangalore he actively participated in many events. These extra-curricular activities and his work experience in IOCL have helped him to develop strong quantitative and analytical and interpersonal skills. These skills have prepared him to handle complex problems. During his summer internship with Altisource he used these management skills to develop a strategy which helped Altisource to address a large market size.
An Electrical engineer from NIT Trichy, Prem is a diverse and dynamic personality. During his two years at Powergrid Corporation as Executive Engineer, he was rated Outstanding for successfully completing projects worth INR 1.1 bn. At IIMB, Prem is responsible for media related sponsorship deals for the Forum for Industrial Interaction (FII), and Merchandise deals for the Merchandising and Retailing society. He has also contributed to the dance troupe and Entrepreneurship cell of IIMB. During his internship at Cairn India, he devised recommendations on pricing policies of Petroleum products, where he was highly appreciated for his commitment and interpersonal skills.

Rachit is driven by passion for knowledge and learning. His strength lies in his adaptability, dedication, persistence and sense of ownership of the job at hand. As President of the student body at NSIT, Rachit organized one of the biggest technical-festivals of India. He continues to contribute as a senior coordinator of the cultural committee in IIMB. He worked as a Business Technology Analyst at Deloitte, where he received Applause Award and Top Ratings in consecutive project evaluations. He interned with Axis Bank’s Mutual Funds division where he received a PPI for his exemplary performance.
An enthusiastic and determined person, Radhika strives to give her best in all endeavours. Being a national-level swimmer with 300 plus medals, she has always been passionate about sports. In IIMB, she has won many laurels for swimming, throwball and basketball teams. She graduated in EEE from NITK Surathkal with a gold medal and an award for Best Sportsperson. At NITK, Radhika was the Girl’s President of the Student Union and at IIMB, she was elected as the Class Representative and was part of FII sponsorship team. During her internship with BCG, she worked on formulating a business strategy for a new bank.

Prejith Narayan is known for his leadership and team building skills. Currently, he is leading 800+ students and 30 student bodies as the President of the apex student body (SAC) and is the only student member of the PGP Committee, the academic body. In NITC, he was an active part of the organizing committees of the technical and cultural fests. He was simultaneously involved with different start-ups. Starting as an Associate Engineer at IBM, he quickly grew up the ranks and became a Test Analyst. Clients appreciated his work during the project transitions from USA to India and he was awarded the highest rating in the 2010 annual appraisal cycle.

Having lived across nine different states of the country, Rahul Pedapudi finds his biggest strength in his ability to adapt to different situations and work under pressure. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from NITAllahabad. Prior to joining IIMB, Rahul was part of Sales & Distribution and Operations team at IndianOil Corp. Ltd. (IOCL) for about two years. At IIMB as Senior Coordinator of Spicmacay, Rahul was part of event organising team for various cultural events. He interned with Sales & Distribution team of Uninor, where he was appreciated for his inputs to improve the quality of customer acquisition through various channels.

Prior to joining IIMB he has worked as project engineer in Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Amit interned at Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd. in algorithmic trading division and developed an algorithm to limit the market impact of high volume institutional equities trades and also, advised a NGO regarding financial sustainability in a project undertaken by company’s CSR arm. Working in the diverse fields he gained invaluable experience and his contribution in both the projects was widely recognized.
Highly enthusiastic and committed to her work, Madhurika is always known for being hard working and confident. A techie from NIT Warangal, she worked as a Database Admin for 2 years with United Online and won accolades for her work. At IIM B, Madhurika is a part of the Hostel and Mess Committee. Hailing from Siliguri - a small town in West Bengal, Ritesh is a simple individual with a strong go-getter attitude in life. During his days at IIT Bombay, besides ranking 1st in the entire first year batch of 600 students, he trained rigorously as a hip-hop dancer, and went on to perform as a lead dancer in the popular Sony TV reality show, ‘Entertainment Ke liye Kuch bhi Karega.’ He continues this passion at IIM Bangalore, performing at several institute events. He is also a skilled table tennis player, and represents IIMB in this sport. He is a proud recipient of the prestigious Aditya Birla and the Ratan Tata Scholarships at IIMB.

As part of BCCL’s (Times-Group) Pricing and Strategy team Sanjana assessed the business potential of leveraging price and volume trends in print advertising and designed a system for estimating price of long-term deals with strategic clients.
He is a 2010 Batch Graduate from and NIT, Rourkela and have worked 22 months with PGCIL before joining IIM, Bangalore. In Powergrid as an Engineer he was responsible for Power System monitoring and operation of western region of India. He interned with PwC in its Energy and Utilities sector. During internship he studied power market for investment in South Africa. Another projects was business development for a client in wind generating sector and he mainly worked of forecasting electricity tariff. An Electrical Engineering graduate from NITW, she had secured Merit Scholarship for academic excellence, worked as Joint Secretary of Electrical Association, and captained the department team. Shrey strives for perfection in whatever he does and believes this to be his greatest strength. After completing his graduation from IIT Kanpur in Electrical Engineering he worked at IBM-Research Lab in the Telecommunications domain for a couple of years where he published three papers and filed five patents during his job tenure. He is also a cofounder of a startup based in New Delhi and he is working on two business ideas with his team currently. He interned at Nomura Singapore Ltd. in the Rates Trading and FX trading desks where he worked on developing new trading strategies.
Giving whatever Shruti takes up her best shot, she raises the bar for herself with every task. Graduated from NITK Surathkal as a software engineer she has worked with firms like Citrix and Amazon prior to joining IIM Bangalore. At IIM Bangalore, she takes part in several business contests in strategy and marketing and also engages with the administration as the member of Academic Council. Shuchi, a BITS Pilani graduate, is highly organized and has a keen eye for detail. A natural communicator, Shuchi has been a sponsorship coordinator for IIMB’s Cultural Committee. As a Dramatics club coordinator, she has performed in IIMB’s first commercial play and has contributed to scripting and production of multiple plays. Before joining IIMB, Shuchi was an analyst for Flipkart’s supply chain and marketing teams and had designed the analytics training program for new hires. Shuchi’s summer internship was at the venture capital firm, Accel Partners. She devised the customer analytics strategy for two of Accel’s consumer internet portfolio companies.

Part of the Director’s Merit List at IIM Bangalore, gold-medal winner in multiple college sports, a quizzer, debater, creative writer and a longdistance runner, Siddhartha is the consummate jack of all trades. He is an electronics engineering graduate from IIT Guwahati, having subsequently worked for ITC Limited prior to joining IIM Bangalore. At ITC, Siddhartha held operations and key account management positions, leading a team of 20 employees. Siddhartha completed his summer internship at A.T. Kearney, where he worked on retail strategy and supply chain transformation projects. At IIM Bangalore, Siddhartha is a member of the Student Media Cell, and is also currently training to run his first full marathon.

Smita is a very cheerful and optimistic person, an avid reader and a determined, hard worker. She takes great ownership in her work and its execution, as evidenced by the several awards and scholarships that she has won. She is a gold medallist from IIT-BHU, post which she worked, as an electrical engineer, at Tata Steel, Jamshedpur for 22 months. At IIMB she is a senior coordinator for Exchange Committee and Bookrack. Smita completed her summer internship at A. T. Kearney where she worked on a project in the Process Industries sector. The project involved an end-to-end value enhancement and was highly appreciated.
Somya is known as a hard working, determined and positive person with consistent academic records. She graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 2010. She has two years of consulting experience at ZS Associates, where she advised pharmaceutical clients on assessing market opportunities and building launch strategies. While interning at Accenture, she helped an Indian steel major set up logistics management for their upcoming integrated steel plant. A trained classical singer, she also plays the keyboard and volunteers extensively for social causes. At IIMB, she is a coordinator of Vikasana, the social service initiative and Dhwani, the IIMB music club.

He worked as a Programmer Analyst in Cognizant, showcasing team work and mental grit under pressure. He interned at HT Media-Marketing in their FM division where he was appreciated for his work on two projects of strategic importance. One was to analyse revenue structure and target potential clients to increase ad-revenue of Fever-Kolkata. The other was a market research targeted at re-positioning morning show of Fever-Kolkata through analysis of consumer behaviour.
Srikanth R is a very positive person, known for his enthusiasm and commitment towards work. With the keen interest in entrepreneurship, he had started two ventures and had won several B-plan contests. Having strong record in extracurricular achievements throughout his career, he was the Vice President, Public Relations for Forum for Communication and Leadership(FOCAL) at IIMB and helped fellow students to improve their communication skills. Before joining IIMB, he worked as Program Manager at Amazon.com and Programmer Analyst in Cognizant Technology Solutions for 2 years where his work was much appreciated. He interned with Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting (WCCLG) and completed two marketing projects on strategy management to improve sales in the Lighting division.

Sudarsh is a cheerful and hard-working person. He graduated from Vellore Institute of Technology as B-Tech in Computer Science. He worked in the Financial Services vertical of Tata Consultancy Services for 31 months for a leading North American Bank. In his capacity as a module lead he was instrumental in providing solutions to bank’s business and also helped in reducing production issues by 30%. He was consistently ranked amongst the top 5 performers in the project. During his Summer Internship at GE he was instrumental in designing a document repository system for the global SAP implementation team. His personal interests involve playing cricket and travelling.
Sudhanva Rao is the personification of calmness. Keeping cool under pressure and solving problems with his analytical skills has always been his strength.
