Scarborough ScarboroughEast EastSite Main Site PROGRAM FOR ALL AGES (birth - 6 years old) Circle of Friends: This is a interactive program for referred families with children with various abilities and developmental needs. For more information or referral, please contact Rukiyah at (416) 735-6066.

Friends at Play: This is an interactive program for parents, caregiver and their children. This play based program allows children to engage in different hands on activities including, sensory tables, crafts, cognitive activities and much more.

Family Time: This is an interactive program for parents, caregiver and their children. Come spend quality time with one another and play in our main room, which has different play stations available for all to use.

Library Time: This is an interactive program for parents, caregiver and their children. Come spend quality time with one another and play in our library lounge, which is filled with books and puzzles available for all to use.

Together Time: This is an interactive program for parents, caregiver and their children. Staff provide learning activities, such as creative arts, sensory table and music circle, as well as information regarding child’s development, community resources and much more.

PROGRAM FOR SPECIFIC AGES DROP-IN PROGRAM Baby Music (birth - 18 months): This is an interactive program for parents, caregiver and their children. Staff will introduce nursery rhymes, songs and finger play to promote speech and language development.

PARTLY REGISTERED PROGRAM Requires parents/caregivers to register 30 minutes before the program starts. Space is limited. Program acceptance may be subject to change at the facilitator’s discretion.

Cognitive Toddlers (24 - 36 months): This is an interactive program for parents / caregivers and their children. This program focuses on providing learning through play opportunities and promotes cognitive, language and social development.

Fun with Letters (2.7 - 4 years old): This program is an interactive partly registered program for parents / caregivers and their children. Children will focus on letter and sound recognition skill through various activities, such as stories, creative arts and worksheets.

Fine Motor Fun (2.6 - 6 years old): This is an interactive partly registered program that will help children develop their fine motor abilities by engaging in cutting, lacing and other activities that build on pre-writing skills.

Fun with Numbers (2.7 - 3.8 years old): This is an interactive partly registered program for parents/caregivers with children. Focus is on number recognition through various activities such as counting, games, worksheets, and crafts.

Music Makers (birth - 6 years old): This is an interactive program for parents / caregivers and their children. The first 16 children to sign up may participate in this music and movement focused program.

REGISTERED PROGRAM Requires parents to enroll for programs during registration week. Only children accepted into the program may attend. Program acceptance may be subject to change at the facilitator’s discretion.

Alphabet Buddies (2.6 - 4 years old): This program is an independent registered program that will introduce and help children recognize the letters of the alphabet through a variety of activities such as crafts, sensory and games.

Fine Motor Skills (2.6 - 4 years old): This is a registered independent program. Children will be able to engage in a variety of activities to improve the ability to coordinate the small muscles of the hand and work on their pre-writing skills. Fun with Math (4 - 6 years old): This program is an independent registered program where children will have an opportunity to do activities that emphasizes basic mathematical concepts and promote the development of problem-solving and logical-reasoning skills.

Kids Club (2 - 6 years old): This is a childminding service for children whose parent or caregiver is attending Nobody’s Perfect or Peer Nutrition.

Pre-Clip (2.6 - 4 years old): This program is an independent registered program for children, who are starting kindergarten on September 2017. This program provides opportunities for children to work on their fine motor skills (for writing), social-emotional skills (making friends), language, and cognition skills (ABCs, 123, etc.). Science Smart (4.2 - 6 years old): This is a registered independent program which aims to develop their cognitive skills using basic topics and concepts in science. Children will take part in interactive demonstrations, carry out simple experiments, and participate in group activities/games to arrive at known conclusions. Stories and Rhymes (18 months - 2.6 years old): This is a registered interactive program for children and their parents/caregivers. Each week children and families will be introduced to a new or familiar story or rhyme. Activities may include arts and crafts, games, sensory and songs. Wording Building (4 - 6 years old): This is a registered independent program where children will learn how to connect letters to form different words through fun activities.

ADULT PROGRAMS, WORKSHOPS & SERVICES Registration for parenting workshops can be done online or at our front desk. Space is limited. Program or workshop acceptance may be subject to change at the facilitator’s discretion.

Baby Buddies: This is a interactive, play-based program for parents and their infants. This program is designed to stimulate healthy relationships, brain growth and child development, as well as help parents understand the importance of their infant’s social and emotional development.

Parent Consultation: This is an opportunity for parents and caregivers to meet with a Community Child Therapist to discuss questions and concerns regarding their child's routine, behaviour and development.

Let’s Talk About… Temper Tantrums: In this workshop parents will learn to recognize the build up to a temper tantrum and how to effectively diffuse and/or prevent one. Several simple, yet effective techniques will be discussed.

Peer Nutrition: This adult program includes various topics such as nutrition, shopping, budgeting, food safety and much more. Hands on activities engages participants and teaches them how to prepare healthy snacks for their family.

Nobody’s Perfect: This workshop will help parents and caregivers develop a better understand of their children’s growth, learning and development, and discuss other topics, such as safety, emotions, behavioural changes and common parenting stresses.

Settlement Services: Catholic Cross Cultural Services will be available on Tuesdays to answer any questions you have in regards to the following topics: immigration/citizenship, welfare, housing, education, employment, health, notarization and much more.
