Art Is 4 Every 1 Create your own one-of-a-kind masterpiece. The Art is 4 Every 1 class meets every Tuesday at 1:00p. The initial supply kit and class is $33 and follow up classes are only $11. Payment must be made when first registering for the class and if paying by check, please make the check payable to Patti Goltz. Ballroom Dance ~ Foxtrot The Foxtrot was the most significant development in all of ballroom dancing. The combination of quick and slow steps permits more flexibility and gives much greater dancing pleasure than the one and two-step which it has replaced. There is more variety in the fox-trot than in any other dance, and in some ways it is the hardest dance to learn. But don’t let that discourage you. “Stan the Man” will break down the steps and make it easy to pick up. Classes are held Friday’s at 1:00p. No partner required and the cost is $5 per person to be prepaid at the office. Foxtrot is a proper dance to proper music….it has class! Basket Class ~ Curling Iron Basket For the month of March we will be making a curling iron basket. It measures 4” in diameter and is 8” high. It is woven around a glass for protection from the warm curling iron. During class time there will be a choice of accent color from our collection of various colors. This basket can also be used as a vase. We will also be completing our February baskets’ lid during this class. The class will be held Monday, March 14 starting at 9:00a. The cost is $20 and reservations and payment must be made by Friday, March 11. The class is limited to 16 participants and if paying by check please make the check payable to Nan Wood. Clogging Class Join our clogging class and get ready to feel the beat! Beginners class is held on Mondays at 10:00a and our regular clogging class is held at 10:00a every Wednesday (with the exception of Pancake Breakfast Wednesday, then class is Friday at 9:30a). The cost is $2.00 per class. We’ll get you partying like a clog star!

March 2016

The Bookies “The Bookies” will meet on March 15 at 1:00p. For the month of March we will be reading “The Other Boleyn Girl” . A historical novel written by British author Philippa Gregory, loosely based on the life of 15th-century aristocrat Mary Boleyn, the sister of Anne Boleyn, of whom little is known. Two sisters who hail from a wealthy family join the court of King Henry VIII. Soon rivalry, scandal and hunger for power results in one's downfall. Pick up a copy at the Information Desk at the Fairfield County Public Library on Broad Street. Contact Barbara Ramsey 740-653-3897 if you have any questions. Travel Buddies Are you the type of person who wants to make memories all over the world? Join us for the Olivedale Travel Buddies meeting on Tuesday, March 22 at 1:00p. If you are interested in attending the meeting contact Terrie Mitchell at 740-304-1121 before the next meeting. Remember, travel is the one thing you can buy that makes you richer. With Travel Buddies you may find someone to experience wealth with you. Tai Chi Studies suggest that the gentle movements of Tai Chi might reduce the risk of heart disease, lower blood pressure, improve balance, help with insomnia, and reduce stress. And it’s fun! Beginners are always welcome. Tai Chi classes are held every Monday with Regular Tai Chi class at 1:00p and Tai Chi for Health at 2:00p. The cost is $3.25 at time of class. Make sure you have access to a phone that will work if the electricity goes out. ▪Medications - keep a backup supply of the medications you take every day. ▪Equipment and assistive devices - Make sure your medical equipment and

assistive devices are easy to locate. ▪Readiness - Know where main valves and switches are for gas, water and electric and make sure you can operate them. ▪Reasonable accommodations Be prepared to quickly explain to resue personnel how to move you or help you move safely and rapidly (such as, “take my oxygen tank”, “get my insulin from the refridgerator”). ▪Safety net - Ask a reliable family member, friend or neighbor to visit or call you in the event of severe weather or other emergency to make sure you are okay. Lights, camera, action! Join us as Olivedale is transformed into “Old Hollywood Glamour” at our Annual Volunteer Luncheon on Friday, April 29 at 11:00a. Be prepared for the paparazzi as you walk the red carpet to be a nominee for a “Volee Award”. Pre-event program gathering will be at 10:30a. Invitations will be mailed at the end of March for this Rat-Pack feeling event. You might want to arrive in your limo and wear your best. You could be interviewed, “Who are you wearing?!”
