Dear Third-Grade Families, As we approach the end of the school year, GGS will be hosting several exciting events for students and families. In particular, next week will be a very busy week for third graders. Please note the following events on your calendars! Important upcoming events for third-grade students include:  Special P.E. activity event for grades 1, 2, and 3 May 29  Missouri Headwaters Field trip, May 28  Student Appreciation Day, May 31  Last Day of School June 7

This week, third-grade students applied their knowledge of multiplication to gain understanding of the concept of division. Multiplication fact knowledge is critical for students entering the 4th grade and will facilitate understanding of other important mathematics concepts. Please be sure to practice multiplication and division facts on IXL.com at home over the summer! For the upcoming Student Appreciation Day, May 31, third grade will be preparing a special science presentation. For this project, students will demonstrate the functions of major body systems as well as showcase their understanding of the human body through detailed artwork. All families are encouraged to join GGS students on this special day. REMINDERS: Please be sure to complete and turn in student enrolment forms for next year. Families who have not yet returned LifeTouch student photo packets or photo payments to school must do so IMMEDIATELY. If you do not wish to purchase the photos of your student, simply return the intact photo packet. If you would like to make a purchase, please mark your order on the order sheet and make checks payable to LifeTouch. Students may not wear flip-flops or shower sandals to school for safety reasons. Students are permitted to wear opentoed sandals however, sandals must have a back heel strap and be secure on the foot. NOTES Our school has several exciting events scheduled for students and families therefore, it is unnecessary and discouraged that students bring any treats, food, or toys to school during the upcoming weeks. Thank you for following this request and joining us on scheduled events.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at [email protected]. Also, be sure to visit the third-grade website for updates, extra practice, and homework information! Enjoy the weekend! -Ms. Hudson
