Dear Third-Grade Families, As Montana begins to enjoy warmer weather, our students will begin taking any unnecessary jackets, boots, and winter gear home. As we inch closer to the end of the school year, students will also be bringing home other personal items and completed projects to remain organized and ready for Summer Vacation. Tomorrow, Saturday, May 18, third grade will participate in the Gateway community Fireman's Breakfast. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy a delicious weekend breakfast with GGS third graders! The Fireman's Breakfast will happen between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Important upcoming events for third-grade students include:  Gateway Fireman's Pancake Breakfast, May 18  Missouri Headwaters Field trip, May 28  Student Appreciation Day, May 31

As our almost-fourth-grade students approach the end of the school year, they have developed and mastered many important skills. Third graders are diligently gaining mastery in multiplication facts; a critical skill for fourth grade and beyond. Students should continue to practice and develop multiplication and division skills over the Summer Break on IXL.com! For the upcoming Student Appreciation Day, May 31, third grade will be preparing a special science presentation. For this project, students will need one (unfitted) white T-shirt. If you have difficulty finding the white T-shirt for your student, please contact me at [email protected] so that we may make arrangements. Otherwise, please bring these in by Monday, May 20. All families are encouraged to join GGS students on this special day! IMPORTANT: Attached to this newsletter are required forms for the third-grade trip to the Missouri Headwaters. Students must bring all forms (signed by guardians) back to me by May, 22. If these forms are not signed by guardians and returned to school, your student will not be able to attend the field trip. REMINDERS: Families who have not yet returned LifeTouch student photo packets or photo payments to school must do so IMMEDIATELY. If you do not wish to purchase the photos of your student, simply return the intact photo packet. If you would like to make a purchase, please mark your order on the order sheet and make checks payable to LifeTouch. Students may not wear flip-flops or shower sandals to school for safety reasons. Students are permitted to wear opentoed sandals however, sandals must have a back heel strap and be secure on the foot.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at [email protected]. Also, be sure to visit the third-grade website for updates, extra practice, and homework information! Enjoy the weekend! -Ms. Hudson
