Newsletter Friday March 18th 2016

Dear Parents, Carers, Governors and Friends, Today was quite a busy day at Raglan. Dr Pauline Watts, an Education Consultant, who works across the ALC, was in school all day carrying out a joint teaching and learning review with Senior Leaders. She spent time in each class observing the learning and then spent the afternoon carrying out a scrutiny of the children’s books . She was very impressed with the rapid improvement across the school, the engaging learning and our high quality books. While she was looking at the books this afternoon, the children were enthusiastically running around the playground raising money for Sport Relief! Great fun was had by all. The money raised in sponsorship will be added to the £100 already raised by 5O from the cake sale they organised yesterday. Well done 5O, a fantastic achievement. A big thank you also to everyone who supported by either buying cakes or providing cakes. The excitement is still continuing as the children are about to enjoy the Easter Disco arranged by the FOR –a big thank you to everyone involved . Hopefully when your children come home they will not be too exhausted!! Enjoy your weekend, Kath Margetts and Staff

Educational Visit Reception children have been learning about ‘Growing’ this term and on Wednesday had a very special visit from Mrs Nye’s 3-week-old Granddaughter and also from Toby’s twin brother and sister. The children were fascinated and asked many questions.

4K Family Assembly Well done for a fantastic assembly. It included a mixture of the Literacy, Geography (Rivers) and Science (Sound) that the children have been learning about this half term. Thank you to all parents who were able to attend.

Last day of term. School closes at 3.15pm for KS1 and 3.20pm for KS2. (Usual end of day times) 24th March – LLC visit to the Aquarium.
