Newsletter Friday 17th June 2016

Dear Parents, Carers, Governors and Friends, Thank you to everyone who was able to come to the parent forum meeting on Wednesday. Mrs Burgess shared a presentation explaining our revised behaviour policy. This is based on a system of dragons , which we have shared with the children – so please do ask your child all about it. Parents also raised concerns about cake and sweets being giving out in class to celebrate birthdays, as certain children have food allergies and also lots of parents want to encourage their children to follow a healthy diet. It was acknowledged that parents like to mark their childs birthday in some way and it was suggested that if you would like to do this that you either let your child bring in something to share with the class – such as a book or maybe buy a small gift that the class can use instead of sweets or cake, so this will now be our policy going forward. A parent thanked us for trying to improve the entrance to the KS1 playground by coning off the entrance to the car park and allowing parents to enter through the car park – they also came up with a suggestion to make it even better- introducing a one way system so parents come in through the car park and leave by the pedestrian gate – brilliant idea - so please can we try this from Monday . Finally it is the school fayre tomorrow – a big thank you to the FOR for all their hard work in organising it and to the staff and parents who are kindly giving up their time tomorrow to help on the stalls. Please do try to come, I am sure it will be a great event. Enjoy your weekend, Kath Margetts and staff

Year 4 Home Learning In science, Year 4 have been starting to learn about habitats and the living things that live in them. The children were asked to create their own mini habitat e.g. a bug hotel, design a diorama of a habitat; here are some pictures of some of the fantastic creations the children brought in!
