Newsletter Friday June 10th 2016

Dear Parents, Carers, Governors and Friends, Welcome back after half term, I do hope you managed to find a little bit of sunshine at some point in the week! Over half term we began our transformation of the library, it has now been decorated and is already looking much brighter and more welcoming. FOR have donated considerable funds to update the out of date and tired books and we are looking forward to involving the children in helping to choose a new and exciting selection. We recently sent out a separate letter asking parents to access the link below and complete a short nomination form - the school that completes the most forms stands to win £5000 towards books, which would really help to improve our book stock, if you are able to do this we would be most grateful www.nationalbooktokens.com/schools . Next Saturday 18th is our summer fayre – next Friday 17th is a non uniform day in return for a donation towards the fayre, details have been sent out separately about this from FOR. Please do come along and support – all money raised is used to support your children in school. There is a lot going on this half term, so please do check the website for details and dates of events. Finally a reminder that Monday is a training day for staff, so school will be closed to children. Staff will be spending the day learning about the International Primary Curriculum which we will be implementing at Raglan from September – further details about this will follow shortly. Enjoy your extended weekend, Kath Margetts and staff

Year 1 Year 1 celebrated the end of ‘The Lonely Beast’ literacy unit with a fantastic beast party in the studio.
