Battlefords River Valley Funding The Battlefords River Valley has received an $83,000.00 financial boost from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport. The Battlefords River Valley is one of seven urban park areas provided with annual grant funding administered through the provincial government. Battlefords MLA Herb Cox presented the cheque to the Mayors of North Battleford and Battleford on behalf of The Honourable Kevin Doherty Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport.

The funding is established by the terms of the agreements signed between the province, City of North Battleford and Town of Battleford in March of 2007. It is being allocated toward continued maintenance of trails in the Battlefords River Valley as well as upgrades to infrastructure.
