Course Name: Monetary Theory Course Prerequisites: Macroeconomics and Microeconomics Course Credits: 4 Upper Division This a theoretical, analytical and practical course. Its purpose is to help students develop skills to analyze the effects of monetary policies, evaluate central banks autonomy and its impact on countries’ monetary stability, develop a critical viewpoint regarding the application of monetary measures, and to learn from neo-Classical and neo-Keynesian approaches by interpreting their policies. The course involves both the micro and the macroeconomic aspects of monetary administration carried out by central banks.
