Weller Initiating the discussion, Chairman welcomed the participants. Various points discussed are detailed in the succeeding paragraphs. 2. It was noted that it is a new item proposed to be brought on R/C on the suggestion of M/s. Weller and recommended by Sub Committee of SRC in its Meeting held in Dec, 2012. Trade representatives were asked to indicate as to what are the usages of this item. Trade representatives brought out that it is a soldering unit wherein the options are available to the operator to do soldering at different temperatures depending upon application. So far as the work station is concerned, trade representatives brought out that it is a complete soldering and de-soldering unit. 3. It further came out during discussion that the probable users for these items are labs of DRDO, ISRO, Defence workshops. Trade representatives also gave the copies of T.E. floated by various organizations including integrated Defence Headquarters, BSF, IIT Delhi, Centre for Development of Device Computing, as also the supply orders placed by HAL, DRDO, OPTO Electronics factory, Dehradun. 4. It also came out during discussion that there is no domestic manufacturer for the equipment. However, Globally the main players are M/s. PACE, USA represented in India by M/s. Hinditron and M/s. Accurex Solutions (P) Ltd., M/s. ERSA, Germany, represented in India by M/s. Bergen Associates Pvt. Ltd., and M/s. OKI Metcal, Japan, represented in India by M/s. Dover India Pvt. Ltd. apart from M/s. Weller, represented in India by M/s Agmatel. 5. It was decided that QA Wing shall formulate the specifications of the items based on inputs given in the T.E. floated by different Government Departments for these items. It was further decided that a copy of the draft TP shall be posted on the website and all the probable suppliers, as detailed in para 4 above, shall be advised to go through it and suggest changes if any.
