Beyond Communication: Using Technology Effectively for Mission and Ministry with John Osman, Ph.D. Candidate Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Internet…are all opportunities to connect, communicate and catechize. How can we keep up? How can we use media effectively? Fortunately, our tradition has a rich history of using media to catechize.
John Osman is a Ph.D. Candidate at Catholic University specializing in Religious Education and Catechetics. Osman worked as a computer scientist for many years before beginning his education in theology.
What specifically does the Church teach about media? How can media support the New Evangelization? Come hear how to more effectively use new media to evangelize and spread the Good News! John Osman will examine the theological and catechetical underpinnings of media and share his experiences using new media for specific ministerial applications including a parish on-line retreat.
