Willets S. Meyer is a partner in the tax certiorari practice group at Farrell Fritz. Will concentrates his practice in all aspects of real property taxation reduction/abatement on behalf of developers, owners and tenants of commercial and residential properties throughout New York State. He is a well-known speaker in Long Island real estate circles, delivering numerous seminars on property tax reduction strategies. Will has been a member of the board of directors of The WaterFront Center, a not-for-profit organization promoting marine education, conservation and recreation for Long Island residents, since 2011. He also serves as a director and/or officer of several private organizations, as a director of the Oyster Bay Sailing Foundation, and coaches youth basketball for the Police Athletic League. Will was appointed Chairman of the Board of Ethics for the Incorporated Village of Upper Brookville in 2017. For six years Will was a member of the board of directors for the Queens Botanical Garden. From 2005-2007, he was a member of the Village of Oyster Bay Cove’s Planning Board. Mr. Meyer received his Juris Doctor degree f rom Tulane Universit y Law Scho ol in 1993. He earned his Bachelo r of Arts degree, Pi Sigma Alpha, in 1988 f rom Connecticut College. Mr. Meyer is a member of the New York State, Suf f olk County and Nassau County Bar Asso ciations. Bef ore joining Farrell Fritz in 1993, Mr. Meyer worked as a law clerk f or the Of f ice of Independent Counsel Iran/Co ntra, where he assisted with several f ederal white collar criminal t rials and received high level go vernment securit y clearances. Mr. Meyer is admitted in New York, the United States Supreme Court, and the United States District Court Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
