KOROR MUNICIPALITY Municipal Ordinance #2

REGULATION FOR THE PRESERVATION OF PUBLIC ORDER The following regulation shall apply with the force of law to all persons in Koror Municipality. ARTICLE I RULES Sec. 1)

There shall be no shouting or unnecessary noise making after 12:00 midnight until six (6) O' clock in the morning.

Sec. 2)

All places of business shall be closed from 12:00 midnight until six (6) O'clock in the morning except in the case of legitimate emergency.

Sec. 3)

Except only as specifically permitted by the Magistrate of Koror, all parties and social gathering shall terminate at 12:00 midnight and shall not be resumed until after six (6) O'clock the following day.

Sec. 4)

There shall be no pedestrian or vehicle traffic on the roads of the municipality between 12:OO midnight and six (6) O'clock in the morning except for valid demonstrable reason. ARTICLE II PENALTIES

Sec. 1)

Whosoever shall violate any of the provisions of Article I of this ordinance shall be guilty of disturbing public order and upon conviction thereof shall be imprisoned for a period of not more than three (3) months or shall be fined not more than fifty (450.00) dollars or both, ARTICLE III PROCEDURES

Sec. 1)

In as much as this ordinance is conceived in the interest of public order, it shall be the responsibility of any municipal Policeman or Constabulary man on duty to arrest any person whom he knows or has reason to believe is violating or has violated the provisions of Article I of this ordinance. Either the failure on

the part of an Officer of the law to investigate the report of such a case, or upon establishing that the person accused has apparently violated this ordinance, the failure of the Officer of the Law responsible to file charges against the accused, shall render that officer liable to disciplinary action for dereliction of duty.
