ORDINANCE NO. 182-81
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF AND AUTHORIZING THE HIRING OF A CONSULTANT TO THE MAYOR OF KOROR AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 177-80 TO PROVIDE AN APPROPRIATION THEREFORE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE KOROR COUNCIL that: Section 1.
POSITION ESTABLISHED
There is hereby established a position of a Consultant who shall provide advise and counsel to the Mayor of Koror regarding transition from municipal government to state government under the Constitution of the Republic of Palau and to provide advise and counsel for the establishment of a constitutional government for Koror. The consultant shall also perform other tasks or services as may be assigned by the Mayor of[sic] the Council. Section 2.
HIRING AUTHORIZED
The Mayor is hereby authorized to recruit and hire a consultant subject to the advise and consent of the Council. Section 3.
COMPENSATION
The compensation for the consultant hired under this Ordinance shall be Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) per year. Section 4.
APPROPRIATION AUTHORIZED
Section 1 of Koror Municipal Ordinance No. 177-80,
KOROR MUNICIPAL COUNCIL
ORDINANCE NO. 182-81
"An Ordinance to appropriate the sum of $165, 966 for the operation of the Koror Municipal Government for Fiscal Year 1981" is hereby amended to include the position of consultant established in Section 1 hereof and to appropriate the sum of Twelve Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($12,500.00) for the compensation of consultant from January 1 to June 30, 1981 out of the Koror Municipal Treasury. Section 5.
EFFECTIVE DATE
This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval by the President of the Republic of Palau or upon its becoming law without such approval.
