Author Instructions for Using Manuscript Central Log in to Manuscript Central (http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tibr)

Previous users (including reviewers and those who have co-authored papers) will already have a User ID in the system and may sign in here. If you have forgotten your password, enter your e-mail address in the Password Help column, and you will receive an e-mail with a temporary password. New users must go through the one-time process of creating an account with the TIBR Manuscript Central system. To begin, click on Create Account, located in the upper right-hand corner. You will be asked to provide information in three steps: 1. E-mail/Name 2. Address 3. User ID & Password Please enter 3 or more keywords that describe your research interests. In the space provided to Attach documents, you may upload a CV or availability information if you wish. Please do not upload your manuscript here. When you have finished entering your account information, you will have access to your Author Center, where you may upload and track your submissions. You may update your contact and account information at any time through the Edit Account link located at the top right of each screen in Manuscript Central.

Upload Your Submission

When you log in to Manuscript Central, you will see your Main Menu, which provides access to all your role accounts with TIBR (Author or Reviewer) In your Author Center, you will first see your Dashboard, which provides at-a-glance information about any previously submitted or unsubmitted manuscripts.

To submit a new manuscript, select “Submit a new manuscript” under Author Resources, and follow the 7-step submission process. You may stop a submission at any phase and save it (clicking the continue button at the bottom of each screen will save your work) to submit later. To submit a revision, click in the left column on “Manuscripts With Decisions” and then click on the bottom right link to “Create a Revision.” You’ll find instructions at the top of each screen as you go through the submission process, but please note the following: 1. Type, Title & Abstract: Choose the correct manuscript type from the drop-down menu. Also enter the title, running head (short title, limit 70 characters), and abstract (limit 250 words). 2. Attributes: Please enter keywords that describe the content of your paper. As much as possible, please select your keywords for search optimization online. 3. Authors & Institutions : To add co-authors, enter the required information and click “Add a New Co-Author.” If your paper is not co-authored, you may skip this screen. 4. Reviewers: You may choose up to four (4) preferred reviewers. Please enter their names and e-mail addresses and click “Preferred Reviewer.” 5. Details & Comments – Cover letter: You may type in or attach a cover letter. If you want your manuscript to be considered for a special issue, select it here. Please provide complete answers to all of the questions on this page; omitting information will result in processing delays. These details and the cover letter will not be seen by the reviewers. 6. File Upload: Attach a copy of your manuscript with all references to authors or institutions removed. Please make sure your manuscript follows TIBR’s Style Guide and Editorial Policy. Attach your title page as a separate document, choosing the designation “Supplementary Material Not for Review.” The title page should include full contact information for all authors and any acknowledgements; this information should not appear anywhere in the main document.

7. Review & Submit: Please review your information to be sure it is complete and correct. You may make changes to any section by clicking the corresponding “Edit” button. You must click on the PDF button to review your PDF proof before the system will allow you to complete the process. When you are finished, click “Submit”; the system will send you a confirmation e-mail to verify your submission.

Track Your Submission You may check on the status of your submissions at any time by logging in to your Author Center from http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jibs . Information on submitted manuscripts can be viewed from the “Submitted Manuscripts” link under My Manuscripts. You will be informed via e-mail when the Editor has reached a decision on your manuscript; the decision letter will also be available in your Author Center.

More Help Manuscript Central offers more detailed instructions and user tutorials. You can access these from the login page under the Resources column. If you are already logged in, you can access them from your Main Menu or from the Get Help Now link in the uppermost right-hand corner.
