Course Update Back east they call it 'Snow Fatigue' with all the April snow events. We just call it a 'pain in our you-know-whats'. It has been a frustrating March and April to say the least. The lingering winter weather has put us far behind on our spring agronomy programs, so now we need to bear down and catch up. Yea for May! On the positive side, spring aeration went really well between the snow showers. And of course, the new direction associated with our new ownership, is beyond positive, bordering on unbelievable. Course conditions will rise to stratospheric heights, better than they have ever been. Truly exciting times for us all. Our new 1 to 3 year plan, which is already underway, involves upgrading all our maintenance equipment, reestablishing our crew both in size and quality, bringing our agronomy practices back to topnotch, renovating irrigation and other infrastructure, and taking our water treatment practices to the next level. We are thanking our 'Lucky Stars', as well as, giving a big shout out to all our members and the FOA for saving our great Club and making this all possible!

Cassie’s Corner And just like that it’s already May! Those spring storms really put a wrench in our plans, but as I talked about last month, some things are out of our control. Take our first wedding of the year for instance. On a rainy Sunday in March, Ashley and Jonathan chose the Club at ArrowCreek to tie the knot! Plan B for their ceremony was to hold it in our back Vista room near the warm fireplace. The soft draping in the main Terrace room transformation was beautiful. We wish them a lifetime of happiness together! Now who is ready for Quinceaneras, Bar Mitzvahs, Graduation Celebrations, Golf Tournaments and more Weddings? Don’t forget to book your holiday parties either, dates are filling up quickly!! Call or email me today; cpete@theclubatarrowcreek 775-850-4471 ext. 209. What’s Cooking with Chef Kevin….. Spring is here! It may not feel like it at times but for Northern Nevada these cold days are just part of the process of breaking us in for summer. Speaking of breaking in; with some help from our members, I’ve been able to start amending our little garden. We hope to grow some amazing vegetables and herbs to create some awesome specials.

Congrats to Bob Bagnato for his Hole in One in April!

A word from the Golf Shop As summer approaches and warmer weather brings more Members are out to enjoy our two beautiful courses, I would like to cover some basics of golf etiquette and your responsibilities as a Member of The Club at ArrowCreek. 

Please use the trash receptacles on the course OR leave the trash in the golf cart for disposal. This includes cigarette/cigar butts. Recently we have seen a lot more cigarette/cigar butts on the course; please take the time to dispose of them or leave them in the cart and we will take care of them.

We are known for having some of the best greens in Northern Nevada. Let’s keep this reputation going by fixing one ball mark per green whether it is yours or not. The best players in the world average less than 14 greens per round. If we fix 18 ball marks, one on each green we will never have a ball mark issue and we will continue to play on great putting surfaces.

When you arrive, always check in at the Golf Shop and the Starter on the range. Aside from wanting to greet you, we appreciate you letting us know whether you would like to practice or play. We can then inform you of the latest course/cart information for the day and in case of an emergency we will know where you are. It also assures an even starting interval between groups.

Pace of play is one of the major factors that determine the level of enjoyment golfers receive from playing golf. Although all Members have a right to any tee time, an honest evaluation on one’s pace of play should predicate when a Member reserves certain tee times. Members, along with Club Management, must work together to ensure an acceptable pace for everyone. Inexperienced players and golfers who prefer a slower pace are encouraged to play golf during periods when they will not impact faster or more experienced groups. Members who enjoy a slower pace should reserve tee times a little later after morning rush. Early morning groups are expected to complete their round well under the course time par of 4 hours and 15 minutes. Should this pace be uncomfortable, late morning or afternoon golf reservations will be recommended. Your group is considered out of position and behind pace if you have fallen behind your “tee time” pace or you are not immediately behind the group ahead of you. Pace of Play Tips 1.

Keep an extra ball in your pocket at all times.

2. Allow faster groups to play through irrespective of the number of players in that group. 3. When riding, please play “Cart Golf” when appropriate. This means drop your cart partner at their ball and proceed to your ball. Waiting for them to play, then proceeding to your ball can waste a lot of time. 4. Bring extra clubs to your ball. You may change your strategy on how you would like to play your shot and this will save you from walking back to your cart. 5. Record your score on the next tee. Do not loiter around the green. 6. Prepare for your shots while others are playing theirs. Be ready when it is your turn to hit…“Ready Golf”. I know that pace of play can be a hot topic at many Clubs but with your help and understanding, we can work towards a common goal and improve our Member experience for golfers of all levels and abilities. Thank you! Jeremy Budge Director of Golf
