The Board of School Directors of Solanco School District met at 7:26 PM on Monday, March 7, 2016 in the board room of the Solanco Central Administration Building, located at the 121 South Hess Street, Quarryville, Pennsylvania, as advertised. Mr. Steve P. Risk, Board President, called the meeting to order and presided. Monica Miller was present to take minutes. The following Board members responded to roll call: Mr. Roten, Mr. Justin Kreider, Mr. Musser, Mr. Chubb, Mr. Plechner, Mr. Kurt Kreider, Mr. Bender and Mr. Risk The following Board member was absent from roll call: Mr. Ressler The following administrators were present: Dr. Brian Bliss, Dr. Robert Dangler, Dr. Timothy Shrom, Mr. Brian Booher, Mrs. Sandra Haines, Mrs. Kay Bandy, Mrs. Christina McLaughlin, Mr. Paul Gladfelter, Mr. Brian Gallagher, Mr. Scott Long, Mr. John Dolan, Mr. David Beard, Mrs. Stephanie Lininger, Mr. Matt Kirchoff, Mrs. Sandra Tucker, Mr. Keith Kaufman, Mr. Bruce Bennett and Mr. Lonsinger Mr. Risk led the group in pledging allegiance to the flag. was observed.

A moment of silence

An invitation to speak on agenda items was given by the president with no response. *At 7:35 Mr. Leon Ressler arrived and took his seat on the Board. Presentations – 1.

Students of the Month were recognized.

2. Dr. Shrom gave presentations on: a. Delinquent Taxes b. Fulton Savings Account A motion was made by Mr. Plechner and seconded by Mr. Musser in recognition and support of the save-for-life program at the Fulton Bank. All voted yes and the motion carried. c. Update on Rx carve out (continued) carrier review The March 21, 2016 board agenda was reviewed.

March 7, 2016 Minutes Solicit Bids/Quotes - Mr. Ressler made a motion, seconded by Mr. Plechner to approve the following request to solicit bids/quotes. All voted yes and the motion carried: Solicit bids for construction of a bus drive loop at Clermont/Swift Schools Solicit bids for roof work at Quarryville Elementary School Solicit quotes/bids for expansion of the parking lot at Quarryville Elementary School Head Start Agreement– Mr. Roten made a motion, seconded by Mr. Kurt Kreider to approve the agreement by and between Solanco School District and the Head Start to use space at either Bart-Colerain or Quarryville Elementary School for their program. All voted yes and the motion carried. A copy of the agreement can be found in the Supplement Book 0307-1423. Head Start Food Agreement - Mr. Plechner made a motion, seconded by Mr. Musser to approve the food service agreement by and between Solanco School District and the Head Start program. All voted yes and the motion carried. A copy of the agreement can be found in the Supplement Book 0307-1424. IU13 Nomination – Mr. Roten made a motion, seconded by Mr. Plechner to nominate Craig Chubb to continue his service on the Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 Board of Directors. All voted yes and the motion carried. Personnel - Mr. Plechner made a motion, seconded by Mr. Roten to approve the personnel report. All voted yes and the motion carried. Resignations Jordan Drexel, Technology Dept With the District Since October 26, 2015 Reason: Accepted position elsewhere – moving out of area Effective: March 11, 2016 Employment Dora Riehl, Cafeteria Personnel, Providence Elementary School Replaces: Gina O’Connor who was reassigned to Quarryville Elementary School Effective: March 14, 2016 Samantha Reeves, Personal Care Assistant, Swift Middle School Replaces: Required additional position for student need Effective: March 7, 2016 Additions to the Substitute List Sarah Salm – Classroom Aide, Clerical Donald Coverdale – Custodian, Classroom Aide

Changes in Assignment Matt Kirchoff, Director of Food Service and Transportation Megan Minchhoff, Assistant to Director Food Service Leave Request – Cristen Appel, Kdg Teacher, Clermont, requesting 2 year maternity leave effective approximately August 23, 2016 Volunteers Mackenzie Keys – Girls Assistant Basketball Coach Tim Argue and Anthony Vilk – Baseball Coach Adjournment – With no further business, at 8:26 PM, on motion by Mr. Musser, seconded by Mr. Bender, and unanimous agreement by all, the Board meeting was adjourned.
