Parent Teacher Interviews rd

Wednesday, March 23 and Thursday, March 24th from 6:00 – 9:00

No Classes – There is no school on Friday, March 25th. It is a day off in lieu of interviews.

Report Cards Report Cards will be going home on March

21st.

Reconciliation Times St. Michael students will be going to St. Joseph Church for reconciliation on Tuesday, March 22nd for grades 5 & 6, Wednesday, March 23rd for grade 3 & 4, and Thursday, March 24th for grades 7 & 8 from 1:00 to 2:30.

Yearbook Committee As you may know, St. Michael's Yearbook committee is working hard on the yearbook. The cost this year is $20.00 per yearbook. We will be sending out forms in April.

Shrove Tuesday Thank you to all who attended our Pancake Breakfast. It was a huge success. We raised $600.00 to send to The Lady Bug Foundation Inc. and Hunger in Moose Jaw. Again the generous nature of our school community shines forth. *The Lady Bug Foundation supports groups that provide shelter & food to homeless people.*

Band Information Wednesday March 23, Regina Downtowner's Optimist Band Festival Grade 6's depart from St. Margaret's at 9 am. Parents drop students off, bus will return students to school between 1 & 2 p.m.

Grade 7/8's will be picked up from their schools by bus between 1 & 2 p.m. They won't return to Moose Jaw until after supper and will be dropped off at the Town & Country Mall. Wednesday, March 30, Sask Music Festival, Moose Jaw Chapter Grade 6's will perform at Mae Wilson Theatre at 8:30 a.m. Parents drop them off at the theatre, school buses will return them to school by 9:15-9:30 a.m Grade 7/8's perform at 2 p.m. at Mae Wilson theatre. That means 7/8 band student’s will be away from 1:00/1:15 p.m. until 2:45/3:00. Jazz Band performs after school and shouldn't cause an interruption, BUT if I can't arrange buses for after school, I may just keep the jazz band S's downtown, meaning they will miss all afternoon. Here are some dates to remember in May: May 2 Music Monday: Elementary School Tour May 21-22 Overnight trip to Saskatoon for the 7/8's (Saturday/Sunday: no school missed) June 5 Final Concert (Sunday evening) Thanks for everything! CHURCH OF OUR LADY Stations of the Cross: Every Friday during Lent there will be Stations of the Cross at 6:30 p.m. (except Good Friday).

Library News • During parent teacher interviews, come check out all the new resources in the library. Our board values literacy in our school and generously supplied monies for new resources. We are very appreciative of this initiative. Thank you. • Our Gr. 7 & 8’s have been invited to listen to the author Deborah Ellis at Sacred Heart School on Monday, March 21st. • Students voted on their favorite Willow Award Nominees and our school has received a free set of Diamond 2011 nominated books. Way to go!

Movie Night

Our SCC is hosting a movie night for St. Michael community on Friday, March 18th. Doors open at 6:00 and movies start at 6:30(Toy Story 3). Admission is $2 per person or $5 per family. There will be a concession with popcorn, chips, candy, water, juice and pop. This will be held in the gym. Bring a blanket and pillow to sit on and chairs will be set up for the parents.
