Resume and Cover Letter Basics: This workshop provides an overview of what is required to develop a resumé and cover letter. Learn formatting styles of resumés and Cover letters and how to market yourself to a specific employer. (This workshop is also available for Mandarin speaking individuals) Computer Basics: This 5 day workshop introduces Basic Computer Skills to individuals who have little or no computer experience. Ontario Works Employment Programs and Services/Chinese Session: This workshop provides information that can help Ontario Works clients reach personal and career goals. An overview of employment programs and services is provided to help with personal and career decisions. Employment Opportunity System (EOS) Navigation Training: This workshop explains the Employment Opportunities System (EOS). It is an on-line service that supports the work of Toronto Employment and Social Services by matching people to employment and volunteer opportunities. (This workshop is also available for Mandarin speaking individuals) Second Career Presentation by Operation Springboard/Centennial College: This workshop provides an overview of The Second Career Strategy launched by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Second Career provides funding for people who have been laid-off and wish to train for a new career. Job Incentive Program (JIP): This workshop provides an overview of the Toronto Public Service's Job Incentive Program (JIP). Learn about unpaid work placement opportunities for both unemployed and underemployed Torontonians. English Conversational Circle: This workshop introduces Essential Skills needed in the workplace. You will learn what an employer will expect from their employees. These competencies can help you prepare, maintain and transition for employment. Self-Employment Session Ontario Works (OW) Only: This workshop provides information that can help Ontario Works clients reach personal and career goals. An overview of employment programs and services is provided to help with personal and career decisions. Financial Literacy - This workshop will help you budget and better manage your finances. Learn about the skills and knowledge you need to make informed and effective financial decisions. Interview Skills and Impression Management: This workshop will help you approach your next interview with confidence by learning what to say and how to dress to make the best impression. Essential Skills & Upgrading (TDSB): The info session focuses on literacy and employment and the assessment process. After the info session, interested clients can remain for

assessment and registration. This program has ongoing classes that develop skills needed to prepare for job training, further education or employment opportunities. Labour Market Information: This workshop explains how Labour Market Information (LMI) provides information on jobs, wages, outlooks, licensing and certification, job duties and skills requirements, education and training Toronto Public Service Recruitment Process: This workshop provides an overview of the City of Toronto's external recruitment process for job opportunities. Pathway to Employment in Mandarin: FOR MANDARIN SPEAKING ONLY** this workshop is designed to increase self-awareness with a focus on both the person and the job. You can use this information to evaluate your compatibility with a career and help you make an informed decision. Hammerheads Information Session – YOUTH: The Hammer Heads Program is a 12 week skill and employment-based training program that links young men and women who are between 18- 26 years of age and from underresourced communities to apprenticeship career opportunities in the construction industry that they might otherwise have difficulty accessing.
