MUNICIPALITY OF KOROR Palau District Western Caroline Islands
MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE N0. 24-62 AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING TAXI OPERATION BE IT ORDAINED by the Koror Municipal Council that the following Ordinance shall become effective on January First, 1963: (1)
All jeeps carrying passengers for hire shall first obtain a Taxi license paid for to the Koror Municipal Office.
(2)
All jeeps carrying passengers for hire shall carry the word "TAXI" on their back and front.
(3)
Such vehicles must be inspected by the District Sheriff to insure that they meet the basic standards of safety and they may be inspected at any time by the Sheriff to insure they continue to meet such standards.
(4)
It shall be illegal for a vehicle to carry the word "Taxi" on any part of the body of the vehicle unless its owner or operator is a licensed driver, and the Taxi license shall have been procured through the Municipal Office.
(5)
Any person violating any provision of this Ordinance shall be penalized by paying a fine of not more than twenty dollars ($20.00), or be imprisoned for not longer than two weeks, or both.
