CONVENTIONAL AND SPECIAL SYMBOLS LEGEND

SOIL LEGEND Map unit symbols consist of a combination of numbers and letters. The initial numbers represent the kind of soil or miscellaneous area. An uppercase letter following these numbers indicates the class of slope. A final number of 2 following the slope class letter indicates that the soil is moderately eroded, and a final number of 3 indicates that the soil is severely eroded. Symbols that do not have a final number of 2 or 3 following a slope class letter indicate map units that are not eroded or are only slightly eroded. Symbols for miscellaneous areas do not have a slope class letter. A plus sign (+) indicates an overwash phase. SYMBOL
