Obituary – K.R.RaghuNandan With profound sorrow, we record the passing away of Shri K. R. Raghu Nandan, formerly of Geological Survey of India(GSI) at Bangalore in the night of 25.06.2015 after a brief illness. Shri Raghu Nandan made notable contributions in the exploration for base- and precious-metals in the country. He was closely involved in the exploration work in the Khetri Copper Belt in Rajasthan for several years laying the foundations for the modern mining industry in the area. He headed the Airborne Mineral Surveys and Exploration Wing of the GSI prior to his superannuation. Shri Raghu Nandan was a product of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. He was a Life Fellow of the Geological Society of India and took keen interest in its activities. He is survived by his wife and two children settled in USA. Our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family.
