We have been busy learning about our new friends and our new school.
Apples, Apples
Math: Kindergarteners have been practicing matching the correct numeral to the corresponding number of objects, writing the numerals 0-5, and looking for hidden numbers within a set (decomposing numbers).
Apple Countdown
Literacy: We have been introduced a few reading strategies. Students have ‘met’ a character called “Eagle Eye’ which reminds readers to look at the pictures in a book for clues about what they are reading. Students are beginning to learn about how to be kindergarten storytellers and story actors. We are always working on identifying characters in a story.
Dress code reminder No shorts allowed until Spring. No camisole or spaghetti strap tops or halter tops are allowed
Social Studies: We are continuing to build our classroom community. Our classes are earning many paper ‘paws’ for making good choices. These paper “paws” allow children to pick a prize from our prize box. Science: We are graphing what the weather is each day and will continue it throughout the year. Students are also making maps in our Fusce mollis STEM, Science Technology Engineering, and Mathematic, center.

Letters: Pp, Bb, Tt, Dd, Ff, Vv Kindergarteners learn about letters and their corresponding sounds with songs and gestures from the Lively Letters Program.
