Welcome back! We would like to wish you and your families a happy and healthy 2018! As we begin a new year, we would like to take the 5me to thank you for your help and support thus far this school year. Just as a reminder, for homework each 5th grader is asked to read for 20 minutes each night and work on Khan Academy or S.T. Math for 20 minutes also. Their only wriMen homework will be filling in the log. However, students will have several at home projects this year and are of course responsible for finishing any incomplete classwork at home as well. Please help as as we encourage your child to work to their greatest poten5al!

Math: 5.NBT.5 , 6, & 7 Fluently multiply and divide multi digit whole numbers and decimals using the standard algorithm. Introducing 5NF.1,2,&3 Fractions Science: Nonfiction writing ~ Energy Transfer and Water Cycle Social Studies: Finishing Mayan, Incan, and Aztec Civilizations Reading: Reader’s Workshop & Guided Reading Groups Writing: Writer’s Workshop ~ Informational Writing Positive Behavior Intervention Supports-(PBIS)- Continue with ROARS expectations. Assembly this month, focus: ownership. Second Step- We completed our Second Step lessons but will continue implementing learned strategies.
